“A recent study published in The Journal of Pediatrics adds yet another data point…finding that suicidality scores dropped significantly an average of two years and up to five years after patients received gender-affirming treatment.”

Gender affirming care helps save young trans lives. It’s simple.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

Engagement KPIs have been responsible for infinite scroll UI traps, RecSys radicalization spirals, public shame brigades, and basically every modern ailment novel to the past decade. At some point, you have to recognize that the problem isn't any one technology, it's the metric.
The company essentially turned a dial that made ChatGPT more appealing and made people use it more, but sent some of them into delusional spirals.

OpenAI has since made the chatbot safer, but that comes with a tradeoff: less usage.

By which time the prescription of puberty blockers will be too late, irreversible changes of puberty will have occurred, dysphoria will persist and the treatment will be deemed ineffective.

Hardly surprising when the doctor in charge has ties to SEGM.

This is not a clinical trial. It’s cruelty.

The trail will involve 220 children.

Meanwhile 3000 another children seeking health care for their gender dysphoria will be placed on an ‘observational’ study.

The old ‘watch and wait’ is how Alice was treated. Although this time there might be someone actually watching, this is not health care.🧵
Puberty Blocker clinical trials to begin
on the NHS

- The trial will involve around 220 children under 16
- Young people will “undergo intensive medical and psychological screening”, including Gillick competency evaluation
- Trial: Group 1 will get PBs straight away vs Group 2, 12 months later
New puberty blockers clinical trial to begin after UK ban - BBC News
Those taking part in the study will be children under 16 who are going through puberty.

The “Pathways” trial is, IMO on more than one level, a thoroughly unethical piece of “research” to be carrying out on children, especially children who are part of a marginalised minority.

She was doing this with assisted dying before this. This is a paradigm case of right-wing radicalisation--just one instance amongst many of how anti-trans extremism is at its core gender fascism; the anti-trans extremist inevitably adopts the rest of the fascist programme
Sorry to post an Unherd article but surely emboldened by how trans rights have been sucessfully undermined - and her support from many UK philosophy colleagues - Kathleen Stock is now starting to question abortion rights. It is important to recognise the trajectory here.

If you don't like trans people, perhaps you should ask yourself how much you like the person the transphobia will mutate you into. Do it soon, because when it's had time to work on you, you won't remember who you used to be.
Kathleen Stock has written an article against "abortion permissiveness". She claims abortion requires "justification" saying the state should limit "unacceptable decision-making" by women about their own bodies.

This is who anti-trans activists proclaim as the feminist thought leaders of our time.

“Dehumanising migrants is not going to solve any self-inflicted crisis the government claims we are experiencing, it will only stoke more tensions. We are no longer seeing people as humans, but as holders of wealth we can sell to pay for our own mistakes.”

Racism, not immigration, is the problem.

Politicians who vilify migrants enable fascism. Pandering to the fears and resentments of those who see migration as a threat fuels the racist riots we see on the streets as well as the racist abuses happening through our institutions. We should be confronting, not coddling, this racism. It’s basic.

This is utter madness. We have a *Labour* government that thinks it's a good idea to brief that they are inspired by Trump's immigration policies.
I mean, it’s quite clever politics for someone from the Greens to pretend to be Shabana Mahmood’s special adviser and brief this sort of stuff to the Times, but I’m not sure it’s especially ethical.

Today is not the day to argue "oh so you want Reform to win then" as an argument for Labour's indefensible and inhumane anti-asylum policies. At least be honest and own that you're defending racist policies promoted with genuinely far right talking points. Don't try and pretend this is "progressive"
