I feel like my brain has some sort of mechanism where my anxiety starts flaring up if I put too much work on my plate. I guess I'm just used to a certain amount of stress I carry around but once the scales tip a bit, the anxiety spirals out of control and makes me miserable. Fucking hell.

Do not deprive yourself of sleep. Make sure to eat actual meals. Separate your self-worth from your output. Be realistic about what you can actually accomplish within a window of time. Plan days / time off as part of your work schedule, they are not optional!!!

Decouple your art from your self, and do the same for every other artist. The art is what you make, but it’s not you, how people respond to it (or don’t) isn’t about you as a person. Strangers might love what you do and your loved ones might be indifferent. This is all okay.
