Giving into intrusive thoughts looks like not leaving your house because you think doing so will cause your loved ones to die. I know the meaning of words changes, but if you are regularly in hell and people use it to describe getting bangs, it’s kind if isolating and what have you.

My biggest pet peeve in the entire world, and I am cranky and have so many, is using terms for psychiatric disorders to describe mundane things. No, the death scene in The Lion King is not traumatic. Getting a doughnut is not giving into intrusive thoughts.

I’m not even sure it is a pet peeve. OCD is a horrible disease. It makes you believe you are capable of greta evil even though you can’t control what you’re seeing. How we’ve twisted OCD in pop psychology and stupid turns of phrase actually kills people.

on monday the regime was going to revoke existing passports. yesterday they were going to allow all already-issued passports to remain valid til expiration. today it’s back to revocation. yet we’re called hysterical or wreckers for criticizing the politicians supporting these policies
Update: The State Department has once again changed the language back to saying transgender people's passports will be valid "until they are invalidated pursuant to federal regulations."
