A federal judge didn’t “steal” the Commander-in-Chief’s powers—she ruled that DoD exceeded the limits Congress set. That is the rule of law working as designed. What threatens the Republic isn’t judicial review, but officials who insist they’re above it.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

The President just announced he is giving $20 billion of taxpayer money to bail out Argentina. That’s outrageous. If he was willing to spend that money in America - to keep American health premiums from skyrocketing, the shutdown would be over tomorrow.

Health insurance costs jumped for workers & employers in 2025.

This will get worse if the GOP refuses to extend ACA subsidies.

Meanwhile, the seven largest health insurance companies made a combined $71B in profits in 2024.

Still not sure we need Medicare for All?

The Americans who will be hurt the most if Republicans let ACA tax credits expire?

Those in red states.

Democrats are fighting harder for Republicans' own constituents than their elected representatives are.

Presidents? SCOTUS gives them immunity.

Corporations? SCOTUS makes it easier for them to pollute.

Billionaires? SCOTUS says they can buy elections.

But if you look Latino, speak Spanish, or work at a low wage job, SCOTUS says you can be abducted by masked agents.

The President gets no special new powers during a shutdown. He can't eliminate agencies. He can't use federal funds to punish his political opponents.

As Trump's illegality grows during the shutdown, Democrats' spines should stiffen to oppose his corruption.

Trump’s decision to pause $2 billion in Chicago transit funds is vindictive & jeopardizes tens of thousands of jobs & the economic growth they create.

This pause is a blatant abuse of power by a President who would rather settle petty personal scores than help the American people.

Repubs won’t even acknowledge that Dems are trying to keep health insurance premiums from skyrocketing for 20+ million Americans?

They are just going pretend that isn’t happening & keep repeating this “free healthcare for illegals” bs?

What do the 20+ million think about that?

This is due to a law signed by Ronald Reagan and has nothing to do with this shutdown fight.

But consider this...

Emergency Medicaid spending in 2023 cost $3.8 billion — just 0.4% of total Medicaid spending.

Now what about the $20 billion taxpayers are giving to Argentina?

This is a blatant lie — but that's the point. It's Authoritarianism 101.

Trump lives to sow chaos and act like a strongman to cover for his rapidly declining popularity.

He needs to "other" his political opponents and stoke fear in order to hide his failures.

This is why we must not give in.
Trump: "The ones that are run by radical left Democrats -- what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They're very unsafe places & we're gonna straighten them out one by one. This is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That's a war too. It's war from within"
