My pinned post over on X was an interview about the book I wrote in response to the last time Trump was elected. I wish it wasn't still relevant.

For my newsletter, I wrote about how wantonly illegal and unconstitutional ICE is, how it must come to a stop now, how it's up to all of us to stop it, and how we will need to develop a way so the federal government can never do this to us again.

1. Trump has dug in on anti-trans provisions in the shutdown fight this morning, cancelling a meeting with Dems unless they cave on trans people.

His post to Truth Social is a clear indication that Republicans are making targeting trans people a priority.

The same bs they're spewing about autism and tylenol is the same bs they're spewing about trans people's healthcare. It's the exact same playbook and the fact that the media can see through one and not the other is a damning indictment of how complicit they are in the attack on trans lives.

Yeah... If the administration adopts the Heritage Foundation's recommendations any speech in favor of trans rights would be treated as having the potential to incite violence.

This might not mean arresting us for speech, but it might mean government censorship of trans supportive speech.
With all due respect, this is a heavy cope.

If you look at what the Heritage Foundation is doing, they would enlarge the definition of "transgender suspects" to basically anyone who speaks out about trans rights and the threats to our existence.
This almost stopped my heart so I think some context is warranted:

This is accurate and also why I’m not the least interested in the exaltation of “dialogue” and “civil discourse”
I shouldn't be shocked, but I'm still always brought up short to realize how many people think "civility" means "white people speaking in relatively calm voices" no matter what vile shit they say.

Not sure if trans Bluesky had analyzed the possibility, but perhaps, the Minnesota shooter had detransitioned owing to the far-right?

I agree with what Erin says here, but would add that Newsom's recent comment citing the age of 25 is especially scary, as that's well beyond centrist-sounding "fairness in sports" rhetoric – it is a hardcore anti-trans activist talking point! it's like he is actively consuming 4thwavenow/TERF posts
A really good (and scary) point from @erininthemorning.com... for trans rights, a President Gavin Newsom could be *more* harmful than a Republican would be.

The bill wouldn't just cause millions to lose their health insurance, it would also:
*ban Medicaid coverage of non-abortion care at Planned Parenthood
*ban Medicaid coverage of ANY gender-affirming care (yes, adults)
*block marketplace insurance plans from covering abortion or gender-affirming care
House Passes 'Big, Beautiful Bill' That's a Vicious Attack on Abortion and Gender-Affirming Care
The budget bill would "defund" Planned Parenthood, closing nearly 200 clinics, and prohibit Medicaid from covering healthcare for transgender people, no matter their age.

There are way fewer movies/books/stories about moms having mid-life crises than dads. Probably because we'd need to find childcare first.

i’m a fan of this headline because it’s important to remember—as institutions are blackmailed over funding & illegitimate orgs like “american college of pediatricians” make headlines—that every legit US medical org with something to say about it said last year, “for trans kids, transition is good.”

I think they made a major mistake releasing this review. It’s going over like a lead balloon in US media and I think it infects the other reviews like the Cass review and the Florida review - it shows how politicized the “government reviews” are from right wing governments.

The only appropriate response to this is impeachment and removal from office. Every moment the political press spends spinning out theories about 2026 and immigration polling is a minute they are not spending asking Republicans in Congress about their plans to enforce the rule of law

1. In 2025, over 850 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been filed across the United States - the most in US history.

Most bills target transgender people.

The bills have also grown more extreme, reverting drivers licenses, arresting trans people in bathrooms, and more.

At age 2.5, my autistic toddler isn't old enough to tell RFK Jr to go fuck himself (plus he's busy taking a nap right now), so I'll go ahead and say it, but I won't speak for him more than that. My kid is smart and loving, and even if he weren't those things he'd still be a fucking human being.

anyways. hi, cis folks!

the comment period for the proposed rule to remove trans care from the ACA as an essential health benefit is open til april 11.

context & guidance in the thread below. it’s not hard; you can do it while you’re still angry about other things.

9 days left, as of this post!
hi, cis folks!

if we *are* going to talk ACA, RFK's HHS proposed a rule to remove *all trans care* from ACA essential health benefit status.

~25mil people are insured by ACA & if 1% are trans, that's 250,000 people who'd lose access to care.

that's bad! take 2 minutes to stand with trans people.🧵
