Here Vox's explainer for just what is going on at the Department of Education which includes me saying I don't have faith in financial aid disbursement next year and, oh yea, I think we're in a constitutional crisis

Man I’ve been saying this forever. Not just scotus, but the administration and all of congress too. The only way their behavior makes any sense is if actual elections are over. I don’t for the life of me understand how one could come to any other conclusion.
Everything SCOTUS is doing makes the most sense if they believe that they can successfully keep a Democrat from ever taking office again

Vile language and weaponization of gender norms are deeply unethical.

Doctors swear an oath to do no harm. A doctor who doesn’t want to provide gender-affirming care can find another specialty. It’s that simple.

If you can’t bear to use a patient’s pronouns, you need to reflect on why that is.

This is just unacceptable. They get tax exemption for helping the public and the trade off is that their electioneering is limited. And THIS only allows religious orgs to do so. What about the 1.8 million other nonprofit organizations? Afraid food banks are not going to go Republican?
Holy shit, a real masks-off moment. Trump's IRS says churches can continue to claim tax benefits as a nonprofit even while explicitly endorsing candidates.

So everyone brown goes first, but they’re already laying the foundations for the elderly and disabled. The poor are an obvious target, but trans people and the rest of the rainbow will be sandwiched somewhere in there. My family needs to decide when to get out. Protect yourselves.

God, is EVERYONE CAVING TO THIS MONSTER? This is heartbreaking. Just abusing trans people to humor their hate.

This isn't a stalled gender revolution. It's a gender counter-revolution. And the most troubling part is that it's younger men and boys the leading charge.

Pretty egregious error from this book: The authors say Swedish deaths fell by 2.3% during the pandemic, proving that the country's lax lockdown strategy worked.

But they misread their source: Mortality is only down if you remove the COVID deaths.

Just WOW.
Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy.

This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

I’ve had two miscarriages: one while living in NC, one in IN. I would have been arrested given my circumstances.
No one experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage should be arrested, much less abandoned in jail for 5 months with a $100k bond. But that’s exactly what happened to Mallori Patrice Strait in Texas. Women, particularly women of color, in this country are no longer allowed dignity even in extreme loss

Massively good news: The provision that would have let the trump administration strip the tax-exempt status of any nonprofit organization they wanted simply by declaring them to be a "terrorist supporting organization" has been removed from the budget bill. Pushing back against these people works.

If you encounter what seems like an implausible survey finding, ask:
1. Were survey respondents selected randomly or was this an opt-in poll?
2. Could the results, especially for young adults, be driven by bogus respondents?
