NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE - Bolts
A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

every single week they're throwing this guy a special oval office love-in that appears to be the presidential equivalent of letting your dog scarf an entire big mac and fries before that last trip to the vet
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."

You don't have to, no matter how angry you justifiably are, make the GOP's arguments for them. You don't have to say "Trump saved Christmas," you can and should just keep shitting on him. People made fun of Jeffries for pretending that the Dems had nothing to do with this, but that's the right line.

you have to show the same level of “wait and see” to a house or senate challenger that you would to a hinge date or a steam launch

Reiterating my belief that the Epstein saga is such a huge question mark with outcomes ranging from “Trump falsifies the docs to implicate all his enemies and gets away it” to “an an angry mob strings up the kiddie fucker” that I don’t feel comfortable making predictions about a year from now.

A ton of pain was guaranteed when this country did not vote for Kamala Harris last November.

Now a lot of the time, we only have a choice between what type of pain, which innocent group feels it most, or whether anything good ever comes of it.
I continue to think one of the biggest divides on this site is between people who understand that the last time we had a good, relatively easy way out of all this was Nov 5, 2024, and people who still don’t.

The government has been shut down for 40 days—the longest in history. All Democrats have fought hard for extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits that make health care affordable for millions. I’m voting against the bill given it doesn’t extend these valuable tax credits.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
