hi again, cis folks!

the comment period for the proposed rule to remove trans care from the ACA as an essential health benefit is open til april 11.

context & guidance in the thread below. it doesn’t have to be hard; you can do it waiting for coffee.

13 days left, as of this post. please comment.
hi, cis folks!

if we *are* going to talk ACA, RFK's HHS proposed a rule to remove *all trans care* from ACA essential health benefit status.

~25mil people are insured by ACA & if 1% are trans, that's 250,000 people who'd lose access to care.

that's bad! take 2 minutes to stand with trans people.🧵

1. Major news in transgender care.

Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have just released their trans youth care guidelines.

They strongly recommend trans youth care and slam the
Cass Review in England.

Europe is not "pulling back" on trans care.

The recommendations, released by the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany, come at a time when US politicians erroneously claim that Europe is "pulling back" on transgender care.

Well shit, something I didn’t know.
This.

Some things that fascists that talk about "birth rate decline" know, but pretend that they don't:

There has been no big decline in birth rate for most white women.

There has even been an increase for older women!👍🏿

All of the decrease, is because fewer girls (not women!) are having babies.

Ugh, I hate the move to unhealthy time, both the acute and long term effects.

Healthy brains need light to wake up and darkness at night to sleep well. 😴

I wrote about it here👇

A reminder that women’s sports are kept separate from men’s not to protect women from always losing to men, but rather to ensure that no man ever loses to a woman.
I’m not making this up; that’s literally the reason.

I think when a lot of American Christians say they follow Jesus, they think of “follow” more in the social media follower sense where they occasionally like something he said but largely ignore everything else.

While some Dems like Newsom abandon trans people, these reps show the power of representation.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know why Bluesky will add hyperlinks to random words in my posts/replies for no reason? For some reason, they turned the word “repressed” into a link, and I can’t really edit it now.
Vance is definitely repressed. I love a good suit, but if I was forced to meet them I’d wear my painting pants and my “fuck the Supreme Court” t-shirt.

Cool cool cool
First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year.

“'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'"

Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder.

If you aren’t actively standing up for trans rights, I’d better not ever see you quoting “First They Came”, because this is your chance to speak out, and history is just just repeating itself instead.
Being trans in the US is watching your community be genocided in slow motion as the media bounces between cheering it on and denying it, and elected Dems say they can't defend you because you cost them too many votes, and leftists say you divide the working class so they won't defend you either.

I suppose it sorta makes sense that early humans traded off fur coats and physical strength for big brains that allowed us to create clothes and tools and now we’re apparently trading off those big brains for the ability to use hallucinatory auto-complete to write reports for us.
