Block print, interference pigment, graphite, and ink

Was delighted that this work had a red dot and sold before I arrived at the opening last night.

“If scientists can definitively say that dreams are important for problem solving, creativity, and emotion regulation, hopefully people will start to take dreams seriously as a priority for mental health and wellbeing…” 🧪😴

Got a sneak peek of this show yesterday. I’m absolutely in love with Kanani Miyamoto’s Floral Landscapes - wheatpasted relief prints and dyed sekishu. 😍

Opening Tonight at Waterstone Gallery in Portland, OR

I’ll be there!

Being on several social media platforms is a riot when it comes to communicating.

What started out as someone reaching out about artwork with their phone number in an Instagram story turned into a phone call with a follow up by email. Now they have updated me on Facebook messenger.

I’m dizzy

Detail of the print below focused on the geometric patterns on the right panel.
Dutch artist M. C. Escher was directly inspired by tessellations (periodic tiling) he saw in the Islamic architecture he saw and sketched at the Alhambra in Spain.

Today feels like a Game of Thowns episode. During a country-wide strike there are reports of arrests of political enemies (journalists) followed by a death of a queen (actress Catherine O'Hara).

A dump of Epstein Files that are released and then retracted. Read a few lines and could not stomach it.

An amendment that would have prevented ICE from deporting US Citizens was *removed* from the Bill that has passed the House.

🚨 The Senate has the power to restrict the additional *$10 billion* in funding for ICE.

Sharing this again. Thank you to those who have made one or multiple calls.
You want to stop funding ICE, the Senate can do that. Government funding runs out on *January 30th* This is a moment to hold
them accountable.

Currently there are just calls to require agents to display IDs and unmask.

I don’t think ICE should get any money until they stop terrorizing people.

A Bolete mushroom found in China that if you undercook it has you to see little people? Seems rather specific for a hallucination - this needs looking into!
With most psychedelic drugs, you never know what you're going to get. But this mysterious mushroom from China - without fail - causes users to hallucinate tiny people: crawling up walls, popping out from under furniture and marching under doors. www.bbc.com/future/artic...
'They saw them on their dishes when eating': The mushroom making people hallucinate dozens of tiny humans
Only recently described by science, the mysterious mushrooms are found in different parts of the world, but they give people the same exact visions.

Portland friends - This Sunday at 11am I’m going to be bringing my EEG, sleep diary and drawings into Waterstone Gallery to show how I used my sleep recordings to inform my Nocturnal Worlds paintings.

I’m now only slightly regretting how detailed my notes are in my sleep diary…

Boosting this because it's a really good show, put together with care and thoroughness.

LeGuin crafted worlds + also a meticulous observer of this one- I loved the shifting projected montage of Mt St Helens drawings.

Go down to Oregon Contemporary and see it before it closes in early February!
Portland friends, do not miss “A Larger Reality: Ursula K. Le Guin” up at Oregon Contemporary.

Inspiring details throughout.

Portland writer Le Guin would draw maps of the worlds she created before starting a novel.

Now compelled to read ‘The Lathe of Heaven’ where a man’s dreams alters reality
