I received this txt Tuesday morning and *just happened* to park in front the oddity shop Paxton Gate when running an unrelated errand.

I thought they just had sculls, taxidermy and crystals. I was delighted to discover that they had an entire section of the store devoted to carnivorous plants.

I blew off social media lately, and for that I apologize. But I can’t let #ArtAdventCalendar pass without posting at least ONCE! So here’s something different, a photo of a lone surfer, three weeks ago during the King Tides at Cannon Beach #Oregon, just two days before all the flooding hit.
A lone surfer braves the crazy waves during king tide on 12/6/25, seen from Ecola State Park north of Cannon Beach, on the northern Oregon coast. The scene is moody and mostly monotones with a pearl-gray cloudy sky, dark waves and silvery reflections crossing horizontally across the photo. An arch rock thrusts upwards in the upper left corner of the photo, with misty spray obscuring the arch. The weather is windy and cold, and this person is clearly insane, but at least he has a full wetsuit on.

17. Contrasting wood cockroach

There's so many species of blattodeans (cockroaches & termites,) with v few being considered pests by humans. Some are incredibly colourful, some are metallic & shiny like jewel-beetles, others have bold patterns. They're very underrated.

Day 20 #ArtAdventCalendar • This #MECFS #symptomatology #embroidery, paresthesia (face) (2016), looks abstract at first glance, but is a visualization of the tingling I felt on my face at the time.
An embroidery of the outline of a face in bone coloured thread on bone coloured linen. The forehead, cheeks, jaws, and temples are covered in filigree lines in dark blues, greens, and yellows showing sensations of paresthesia/tingling. There are French knots spaced out along the lips. Lines of beige strands of thread are strung from the knots across the face in a geometric formation to show tension around the mouth.
