Many of us in DC area felt like we were canaries in the coalmine, seeing up front the early DOGE effects. Once "no kings" became a national movement I felt better because in the early spring it felt like others simply weren't aware of how bad things were. We were the loudest canaries we could be.
Sam is right. DOGE did exactly what they wanted it to do- hurt poor people, destroyed faith in government, enriched Elon.

During the day I can keep busy & distracted enough to contain the anxiety. But my tired brain lacks the discipline, so these days I am listening to podcasts in the middle of the night. Anyway, looking for more if you have suggestions

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.
