100% this! I feel like we’ve seen less and less vocal diversity in characters in recent times, and it’s really irked me. I want more tenor/high baritone old men!! I want more low alto, baritone young women!!! Interesting voices make more interesting stories imo, and I’m sad I don’t hear them much
We've seen a tanking up of pitch in feminine roles. When their only purpose is attractiveness to 18-25 year old men, there's much less range in what those characters are. So anyone who doesn't have a squeaky girl voice gets passed over. There are female baritones. We don't hear them.
