I'm Marin M. Miller, a voice actor, writer, and vocal technique specialist that been working in anime and games since my first booking in 2006! Here are a few of my most well-known titles--do you know them all?

That scream at the end, though....
Three years after this photo was taken, I would perform as Shrek in front of this very cart for $8/hr. This was how I earned SAG Eligibility in 2008, but I would not become a member until booking The Snow Queen in 2012.

Translators work hard to make sure that the translated words, sentences, paragraphs, chapters, etc, not only convey the author's meaning, but also the author's *style.*

Translators are alchemists. They are artists, and poets, and researchers, and editors. They are magicians and wizards.

Please, I am begging you, do not tell AI to translate for you. Do not just use a translate button on languages you can't read. Please ask a human being to help you. Machine translations are often close enough on a sentence level but that is NOT good enough for anything you take seriously.
"Use AI for translations"

Hey, who was doing translations before? How did we train AI to do translations? Who was the author of the translations that were fed into AI?

Ah, I see, another "ethical" use.

Okay I did watch this movie for the first time while vaccine sick on the couch yesterday and first of all, the movie should have ended with Nicole Kidman saying "I want to fuck a shitton of men and laugh at you" and Tom Cruise saying "damn bitch that sounds hot I'm in"

Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

If nothing else, the similarities of Japanese and te reo phonemes have made it much easier for me to pick up and pronounce vocabulary in the latter.

I'm so proud of this team and incredibly psyched to have gotten to collaborate with both new + familiar folks! ☺️

Twenty years on and I still think this is the most breathtaking sequence ever put in a videogame. Testament to the fact that scale and awe are not virtues of graphical horsepower alone

These days, I don't care much about how much I personally like a person.

Someone can be a good person and not be one that I personally vibe with.

But if they're a straight shooter and we can have a conversation that isn't rooted in fear, I can respect someone even if I don't agree with them.

Sir Terry Pratchett is best understood as one of the most interesting, deeply ethical practical (I would say Pragmatist but I cede to actual experts) philosophers of the late 20th Century who just happened to work in deconstructed fantasy literature as his medium.

After starting the new job I've started walking 2-3 miles every weekday to build up more stamina. Kinda wild to see it's added up to 64.5 miles.

My record so far is (not a joke) 69.69 miles. I'm shaping up to beat that pretty significantly if I stay on track!

Yesterday and today are my first paid days off since 2009 and I've been thinking a lot about how much I've struggled since then. How much I've gained, but what I had to sacrifice to get it.
