Hi, new followers! I'm appallingly bad at following back, so if we know each other from elsewhere, please say hi!

I write steamy contemporary romance (The Scoop and The Shot are available now in no good bookshops and only the bad one, sorry.)

I post whatever shite comes into my brain.

OK so apparently both Corbyn and Sultana are right. This name won’t be registered with the Electoral Commission and isn’t THE name, it’s just a working title for now. Got it?

What were the most ridiculous things that got 'banned' at your school? Soluble cola tablets, role playing dice, those spidery octopus things that rolled down windows and anything else that was considered a potential hazard or had 'been on the news'...

At this point, I do not know how anyone denies what is happening in Gaza unless they have no sense of morals. People are starving to death. They are being shot at when they come to get food. What else can you possibly call this but genocide?

Ok, if this guy wasn't Lestat the vampire, what would his band's name be? Because I swear this is exactly how I picture a minor character in my WIP and his band is currently called *THE SOMETHINGS TBC*

"We say this thing like this, so this other thing should follow that pattern and you're wrong if you disagree" is a terrible argument, because English is a messy, messy bitch
I am constantly at pains to point out that if you’re after logic and consistency in English, you’ve come to the wrong language.

We're done? Like, we're going to cease to exist? Can we wait a few weeks so I can go on holiday first?

Every time you look at this, there's something new to wonder about
Apparently the BBC were able to spread COVID propaganda because they'd already rotted our minds by showing Scooby Doo in the 70s and 80s. It's amazing that these people can chew gum let alone put up posters

This is obviously the solution to the BBC's dilemma - edit Wallace and Torode out and replace all their bits with Hacker
Cowards. Give him the MasterChef job.
Hacker T Dog has joined Blue Peter as the show’s 44th presenter. He’ll join the show in September.

Why the fuck has the Jet2 holiday advert become a meme and, more to the point, when the fuck are my kids going to stop reciting it 13 times a day?

"Show, don't tell" has morphed into "Just describe everything with physical detail" in far too many writers' brains.
Too many aspiring writers have movie brain poisoning and write like they’re showing an establishing shot on screen. Most fiction in English doesn’t have an objective camera eye, usually you’re in somebody’s mind, it’s an advantage we should ruthlessly exploit
