Knitting, filk, Loki, and quite a lot of other interests. To misquote Anne McCaffrey, my hair is currently blue & purple. Basically name-squatting, reading friends' posts occasionally. If you want to contact me, try on Mastodonapp.uk.

Incidentally, I'm basically name-squatting here, like in a lot of other places. I don't expect to be posting much, I'm more likely to be on Mastodon.

In Worcestershire, Reform are taking the Greens to court in hopes of overturning a Green Cllr win.

Court cases are expensive & the Greens are funded by our grassroots, not oligarchs.

I’ve chipped in a bit, can you? Bits add up. Thank you.

Next week, the Green Party will defend Worcestershire Councillor Hannah Robson in the High Court.

The Reform UK candidate is hoping to overturn our election win!

Can you help us defend Hannah and democracy from this attack? Please donate if you can 🙏

Mastodonapp uk still down, alas. However, I have conquered IKEA's mile-long queues and lack of tills (!) to buy two mats, 4 small plates, 3 small rainbow totes, and 4 more IKEA-bag mini keyrings. I'll even get them unpacked when I've had my coffee.

My dad made one of these high chairs for me when i was a Smol Bean, then made them whenever anyone had a kid, and then made them to give away. Now it’s my turn to make one for my kid, and if anyone in PDX has a little one and needs a high chair, let me know - times are hard and i’ll make you one too

If you're a knitter/crocheter & love hats, you probably know Woolly. If not, you should take a look at her patterns & book. I have a number of her patterns, & book, & I love her.

If you support Ukraine's fight against the Russian invasion, you can support Ukraine, while making her lovely hats.

Dammit, posting to Masto about socks, and AS I DID SO it had a crash. I've managed to save the text of the entry, and made a note of which pics I was going to put with it, though not their alt-text.

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

Microsoft just put up the price of your subscription without your consent. Mine rose from £79.99 per year to over £100. The extra is because they've strapped their 'AI copilot' in to every program. You can refuse this increase and these features. Instructions below.
Microsoft is going to price gouge you by adding their genAI to your subscription without your consent, and they are not transparent about how to avoid this bullshit.

Here's how to change your subscription back to "Classic" for a lower charge without Copilot: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffi...

Happy "Microsoft trying to force CoPilot subs" day in the UK for all who celebrate.

(They just pinged me my renewal notice with it carefully worded to sound like a compulsory general price increase).

1) Go to your account page
2) Hit cancel
3) Change sub back.

For the record, the correct response to this in the UK at least is always:

"I believe that doing this would potentially represent a significant data breach and break the law. I'll need a letter from the legal department confirming it isn't, first."
Do you work in network security and would like to have a heart attack? Then boy do I have a paragraph or two for you.

I live on an island with an abandoned WW2 gun battery. Every year we have a ln art festival in it & the walls get painted with murals.

I spray painted the last line of this poem on a wall there once in winter.

Even the festival carefully didn’t paint over it for three years.
