Hello friends. I mostly share here things intended to bring solace & a little joy.

I’ll also talk about my work (contemporary story-songs & geek-folk, interfaith, history, folklore & nonsense).

I encourage you to seek out beauty, dwell in wonder, practice kindness & be thankful (& use alt-text!)
So Labour criticise @zackpolanski.bsky.social & the Greens for offering ‘simple solutions’

Step 1 for a compassionate new Govt for the 99% not the 1%:

STOP MAKING THINGS WORSE

2: Low-hanging fruit that would improve lives & establish direction

3: Complex integrated solutions (see Green policies)
Govt scraps all electrification investment. Midland Main Line to stay forever diesel Leicester Nottingham Derby Sheffield. Hugely embarrassing and inexplicable

Wealth & power for the few, at the expense of the wellbeing & lives of others: that’s the rule:

And it’s wrong. Inhumane. Counter-productive, selfish, shallow-hearted, cruel, & disastrous.

We have to break this system.

In England & Wales, @zackpolanski.bsky.social is leading the party of change🍃
Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Dear GOD if you want to save money in the asylum system

1. LET ASYLUM SEEKERS WORK

2. FAST TRACK STATUS FOR EVERYONE FROM CLEARLY UNDAFE COUNTRIES like Sudan, Syria, etc

3. Run an asylum accommodation system that is NOT FOR PROFIT #r4today

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

Go on then, the Game of Wool on catch-up. His bad can it be?

1. I spotted Janie Crow’s ‘Mystic lanterns’ blanket in the opening credits. I hope she gets a namecheck & credit.

Someday, I'd like an MP to stand up in parliament and ask why the *opinions* of a small subset of cisgender people matter more to this government than the safety, health, and dignity of every transgender person in the country.

Desperately moving & informative words from asylum seekers currently housed in hotels.

Please do read.

Zack Polanski calls for real leadership from the government ahead of #COP30.

That the UK - one of the architects of this fund, designed to save the world’s forests - is now refusing to put any money into it is frankly shameful. Starmer’s claim that he still continues to back the fund is meaningless without resources - so much for climate leadership

The whole thread’s a beaut😊

Joyfulness & laughter, warm human curiosity about our fellow beings, *connecting* & adding goodness to each others’ days & surroundings SHOULD BE the stuff of politics.

It’s on us all to seek, support, & be those things. For me, that’s the Green Party & Zack Polanski🍃
8. The same goes for system-justifying establishment stiffs across the world. Starmer, Reeves and McSweeney come to mind, here in the UK. They are the ghost of politics past. We need a vibrant politics future.

The environment isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s where we all live. We need to elect people who understand that the house *is* on fire.

Starmer disappoints again.

Join the Greens, elect more people like Carla, & #BackZack for environmental, social, racial & economic justice.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social
This is deeply disappointing from Starmer.

The UK *helped design* this 'TFFF' fund, designed to stop deforestation, and supposedly 'continues to back the fund' (in theory). But now isn't putting any money into it 🤯

How embarrassing for the UK.

Can some of you please watch ‘V for Vendetta’ for me tonight please, to be seasonal and topical?

I would, but I don’t think I have the heart-resilience for it just at the moment 🫤

I’m going for ‘reassure the cats & watch something fluffy’.

Can’t do justice to the strange light here. Tried anyway.

I’m sitting on cushions on the floor, cuddling a post-surgery cat. She’s purring, & thankfully, she’s leaving her stitches alone.

There are good things in the world, & one of them is hope.

His success will resonate throughout the world. A story where no one is left behind.

It's time to write that story across England & Wales too.

Sunday afternoon, I’m crafting with Marple again.

I’ve reduced my fix-up & mend pile LOTS recently & finished some yarn projects, so I’m havering between the big job of assembling a #crochet granny square jumper & the lure of something new.

Anyone want a little knitted, unassembled Dino? #knit
