Hello friends. I mostly share here things intended to bring solace & a little joy.

I’ll also talk about my work (contemporary story-songs & geek-folk, interfaith, history, folklore & nonsense).

THREAD.

It is a little-known fact that, from 1978 to 1982, my family, their friends & I starred in some of Britain's most acclaimed, yet rarely-seen, low-budget folk horror films.

I've summarised the plots from these cult classics below in the alt text, beginning with...

1. Dragon Cottage (1978)

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Labour folks, you’re not ‘working towards change from the inside’. You’re supporting & endorsing Starmer’s/Mahmoud’s words by your presence & membership, while they ignore your polite objections

It’s hard to leave a thing you’ve been part of. But it’s time

Time for bold politics.
Time for courage.

Elect former theatre kids if you want articulate politicians who are big on empathy, creativity, collaboration & communication!

(Other positively-formative backgrounds are available. Multi-millionaires need not apply.)

The right wing approach now is to put me in a box with an incredibly successful politician who just won a stunning victory.

The poverty premium has gone digital and everyone's pretending not to notice. McDonald's charges more if you don't use their app. Tesco Clubcard prices are 20-30% cheaper than "regular" prices. Amazon Prime front-loads costs poor people can't afford. Being poor now costs extra. 🧵 #UX #technology

People on the Far Right want to deport or exterminate all the groups they don't like.

Sunday afternoon - OK, I know it's early evening really - it's time for another 1-woman craft party here.

I want to reduce my WIPs (Works in Progress) so I can start something new & different & tasty for my brain goblins.

Remember, frogging, or deciding a thing doesn't merit mending, also counts!

Went to Bristol’s Totterdown Art trail. Didn’t take a single picture but filled my eyes with beauty, my heart with wonder, & my arms with hugs from old & new friends.

So many folk adding beauty to the world!

So it delights me every time I hear that my songs are being sung & heard & remembered.

Natalie was Leader when I joined, & there’s that ‘which one is *your* Dr Who?’ connection 😊

I met her at assorted events & conferences & was always as impressed by her humility & warmth as much as her intellect & compassion. Zack has a similar energy, & she paced the way for his leadership now🍃
I know without any doubt that @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social changed my life and changed politics in this country forever.

What we recognise @greenparty.org.uk to be is down to her leadership and the surge she created that ensured her values would be the party’s for years to come.

Don’t miss this 👇

My pivot from 'wtf are labour doing copying the last 15 years?' to 'who represents me today?' has been swift.

We don't have time to hope Labour reinvents itself as the party it once was.

You just have to go for the party that is what we need today.

Time is short. Vote Green.

but as the weather turns
on no nights will you want
to have to stay home
because you are sick.

It has rained all day. I took post-surgery cat for a checkup at the vet. (She’s doing ok.) I cleaned & cleared things & did the usefuls.

I finished 2 crochet dishcloths, crocheted a tree decoration, progressed granny square jumper no.1, & dedigned 2 crochet motifs.

Mediaeval music & firelight now🔥
