Thank goodness Larry Summers’ wife Elisa New, a literature professor at Harvard and founder of Poetry in America, recommended the book to Epstein.

She and Summers honeymooned on Epstein Island.
the Epstein files include several pictures of a naked woman with the opening of "Lolita" written on various parts of her body.

Question: Are there any good studies on the economic effects of the widespread addition of tipping screens to payment systems? Have all these new tipping prompts increased workers earnings or no?

"the essay sucks ass" is no doubt true, couldn't be bothered to read it, but consider that the essay may have been written to receive an F in order to instigate a campaign against the trans TA. in any case it's not a great dunk because this isn't about the essay, it's about purging trans ppl

every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

Goodbye Harrell, I will always be insulted at you referring to “rebuilding Seattle” during last year’s Westlake tree lighting. Seattle isn’t rebuilding, Seattle is growing.

Starbucks baristas at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney store - and across the country - are getting strike-ready unless Starbucks finalizes contracts and ends union-busting by November 13th.

It would take less than ONE DAY’S SALES to finish these contracts.

There’s a big apartment block and a little plot of townhomes being built on my street and the difference between the corporate crew following safety codes and the little guys drilling an unmarked trench at 7am on a Sat is why I don’t treat small biz like precious little underdogs

this is a very clear and throrough explanation of how election night results in Seattle/King County are never truly final for at least a couple of days.

(also Mike Baker is very good at everything PNW for a nat'l outlet person IMO. it matters!)
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell has a 7-percentage-point lead (53.3% to 46.2%) over progressive challenger Katie Wilson.

But there is a very good chance he will end up losing.

Honestly I’m just so thankful the Taylor Swift album everyone turned on was the one cluelessly aligning itself with working class entertainers so they didn’t drag me off for a lobotomy while I yelled about stolen valor

I read like 2/3 of Baudrillard’s Sexuality one summer and I feel like he’d be looking at all this groyper gender stuff (which should NOT be conflated with non-fascist gender identity) and be like, “I know I kinda saw this coming but wtaf”
