We already allow mid-rise, single-stair, cross-ventilated, attached point access blocks with open stairways, sometimes even with small elevators! You just have to buy a giant townhouse to get it.

I am 100% opposed to these laws because in all cases they are used to pressure disabled people to die. Because that's cheaper than providing the supports they need to live. It happens in Canada with MAID, it happens in Oregon, it will happen in Illinois.

their plainly stated goal is to starve forty million people until they get what they want, which is to rip health care away from millions more

that this is too monstrous for most news organizations to tell the truth about does not change the facts
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

If you post a screenshot of a ChatGPT or Google AI claim to prove a point, you should automatically lose whatever argument you're having. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

It is meaningless.

PLEASE don't let people get away with using AI as a source. I've seen too many screenshots of Google AI answers instead of links to articles or papers. Context collapse happens so incredibly quickly because people take whatever perspective they're handed instead of using their own.

A lotta folks have been warning for YEARS that govt subsidies encouraging US farmers to invest near-exclusively in two crops (soybeans and corn) could have catastrophic consequences.

Most were thinking climate-change implications (making these crops ungrowable) but here’s a self-inflicted one!
“.. If a deal with China isn’t reached soon, Hill said, the soybean market ‘might be a bloodbath.’”

We are all readers, worthy of literacy. LeVar Burton said “but you don’t have to take my word for it” because he wanted us to look to the books. That’s the beauty 💚
