In general, as a tran, I am trying not to overestimate the risk of state-backed violence against me (though it is considerable) in the next several years and not underestimate the risk of violence from random individuals that the state mostly pretends not to see. Stay safe out there, pals.

Hard to feel very positive today.
But as the windchill dips to -7F (-22C, very cold for here) I’m grateful I can feed the 200 birds that share my neighborhood and have been at my feeders all day.
Caring for the vulnerable ones helps the carer too, and we’ll need to care a lot going forward!

This is a story 3 years in the making. In 2021, the morning after the 4th of July, I found our first C4C alumni, Pepper, with a broken leg in the middle of the road outside an apartment complex. In 2023, I was called to that same complex for two sets of abandoned kittens (the Kitstaceans & Oranges).
