What's from Chicago, hates Illinois Nazis, and is holy as fuck?

Hello Canadian Producers and Showrunners! 🇨🇦

I’m an experienced story coordinator, soon to finish up my second season on the critically acclaimed Netflix/CBC/APTN series NORTH OF NORTH, and open to work in the new year!

Let me introduce myself... 🧵

This series was formative in my life. I love this post.
Not an exaggeration to say I'm both a writer and an English teacher b/c of Lloyd Alexander. My 4th grade teacher read to us from The Book of Three every day after lunch, and I was hooked. I wrote to him that year, and he not only replied, he took a 9-year-old's question seriously. (More in alt text)

We'll be closed all day Sunday November 2nd for our semi-annual inventory count. We'll be back open for our regular hours on the 3rd.

On a totally unrelated note, on Saturday November 1st, all books will be 10% off!

(Please buy everything in the store, that way we don't have to do inventory.)

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

"Tzefardea Tzedek" (Frog of Righteousness)

As soon as the Portland Frog became a meme, Jewish social media blew up with jokes about the 2nd Passover plague - tzefarde'a (frogs) - and the Rabbinical commentary around it. I knew I had to make a calligraphy piece encompassing all of it. (more in alt.)

I found a NASA document that is a history of wake-up songs played for astronauts since the Gemini missions. It’s not complete, but includes songs played to Skylab, the ISS, and to Sojourner and Spirit on Mars. I am beside myself. 1/2

By wearing that jersey, this magnificent hero must be planning to break the Leafs’ curse with the power of a Game 7 win by the Jays. That crazy sonuvabitch. (Cue internal screaming)
A wild choice from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as he arrives at the Rogers Centre in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey.

Clearly some thinking behind it — but not exactly the Game 7 history you want to be replicating tonight.

Just four hours away now.
