When people push for trans and non-binary individuals, or any marginalised community, to be denied their actual rights, discriminated against and demonised there is a more commonly used term for the type of group they are, and it doesn't tend to be "rights group"

It’s a sad indictment of Britain’s ignorance of nature that Sycamore Gap petitions - for a tree that mattered to humans but not nature - received tens of thousands of signatures but a petition to protect entire peatland habitats is stuck at 1,500 actnow.peatfreepartnership.org.uk/end-peat-sal...
Sign the petition to end peat sales!
No more delays: Let's get peat out of gardens once and for all. The time for uncertainty has ended.

When this guidance is published (given legal standing), as it almost certainly will be, as a trans man I will not be allowed to use non-unisex public toilets. Which is almost every public toilet.

Just want that to sink in, there.

Incredibly brave. Imagine the faceless bores the BBC will have making their programmes if they continue down this path.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The @nionwomen.bsky.social petition has now zoomed past 70,000 signatures! These are cis women who support trans people’s human rights.

The transphobes can get nowhere near this figure. “Gender-critical” transphobes do not speak for women.

Some definitions which might be helpful:

Neurodiversity: all types of brains.

A person in the neurological minority is neurodivergent: different from the (neurotypical) majority.

A group of people are neurodiverse: a variety of neurotypes, neurotypical AND neurodivergent.

These are not synonyms.

WELL NOW, would you look at that? A massive, 24-YEAR-LONG study of MORE THAN 1.2 MILLION people in Denmark found NO LINK between aluminum in childhood vaccines and autism, asthma, OR chronic disorders.

Aluminum is an ADJUVANT.

It ENHANCES your immune response to a vaccine.

That’s it.

Since becoming a parent I have not, in fact, understood the parents who say “if you were a parent you’d understand” about vaccine hesitancy. Being in charge of this fragile little miracle has me saying things like “give her all the vaccines. Turn this baby into a pincushion” to doctors

This is amazing, great initiative. We went to Hampton Court Palace in the summer because my eldest was into Tudors. Both my kids adored it to the extent we didn't get home til after bedtime. Definitely worth your £1!
Thing I found out today: if you're on Universal Credit (or other means-tested benefits) you can get into Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, or the Tower of London for £1 (and 50% off at one cafe per site too). Because poor people deserve days out too www.hrp.org.uk/one-pound-ti...
One Pound Tickets
£1 tickets for a day visit to the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace will be available to anyone in receipt of named benefits.
