I've not really done an introduction yet, so for those who don't know me from *there*:
I'm Clear Autism, and I post about neurodiversity/neurodivergence, disability and carers rights, and related issues, in English and French (UK based but lived in France for years). Probably AuDHD but shy about it.

These are government employees. So our tax dollars are funding ICE to flash white supremacist cards at vulnerable POC as an intimidation tactic. Who is giving this direction?

There’s something deeply sinister happening in this country right now, and I don’t think we can take three more years.

Happy New Month 🥳
The great thing about February is that it has only 28 days, unlike January which had 10,000

This place is getting much worse for alt-text recently! Include it for your own images and don't repost images that don't have it (except to add alt text yourself if you feel it's important to share it anyway).

Last week, a world leader named Trump.

Felt flatulence down in his rump.

Let loose with the fart.

Turned out, was a shart.

And on national news, had a dump.

And you take a great big dump.

It's like those VR goggles that are supposed to simulate autism, or the politicians that lived on benefits for a while to prove it could be done easily (guess what happened).
It's just a temporary tourism experience, no actual understanding necessary.

It might be worth drilling down into what it is she wants from her future role (that's if she can't figure out what that job actually *is*), by reversing the roles and interviewing *the job*.
So: what will the position bring to her? How?
Why is it suitable for her?
Is it short or long term?
(etc.)

No offence but I'm not downloading stuff from an account I don't know.

I would be interested to know:
- Who funded the research
- How many people were surveyed
- The proportion of disabled people
- How assisted suicide is defined and what information was included about what exactly it entails
January 30, 2026 at 6:11 PM
Religion is not the only reason people are against assisted dying and it's facile and reductive to categorise people opposing it as "religious".
Disabled people like Tanni, for example, are simply paying closer attention to what's been going on amid the wider ableist context around disabled people.
January 30, 2026 at 6:07 PM
This survey asks about support for the *principle* of assisted dying.

That is NOT the same as supporting a bill, and this particular is deeply flawed.
January 30, 2026 at 5:55 PM
As things stand, disabled people aren't protected from a society - including many members of the medical profession - which makes ableist judgements on lives it doesn't understand or value.
Until that changes, Assisted Dying (more accurately, assisted suicide) is a danger to all vulnerable people.
This is the problem with Assisted Dying policies that are implemented without sufficient policies to ensure a right to care or a dignified life.

A Canadian man waited a year for treatment for end of life care only to get denied.

His MAiD approval happened in two weeks.

That’s eugenics.
A man waits nearly a year for regulated psilocybin therapy to ease end-of-life distress and is denied.

He applies for MAiD and is approved in 3 weeks.

Bureaucracy moves fast when it wants to.

The pro assisted dying lobby never address legitimate concerns, they just say it would never happen when plainly it could, and it does in other jurisdictions.
At least the Lords are listening to disabled people.

It wasn't in any manifesto.
Nobody voted for it.
Just because it's the will of the assisted suicide lobby doesn't mean it's the will of the people.

Sincerely, to anyone who uses that word regularly, why?
Legitimately want to know from left-wing accounts that use the R-word, why do you use it? I know why right-wingers use it. But left-wingers, why?

One of them told me "that's how we beat them" (i.e. by using their own insults against them)...

They seem to believe that if you're using ableist slurs to describe terrible people, you get a pass somehow.

This week, the UK lost its measles elimination status. According to the BMJ, "96.4% of those infected had not received a single dose of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine."

Canada lost its status in November 2025.

We're going to _Find Out_ very soon what the implications are.
ICYMI: Most new IACC appointees are autism pseudoscience has-beens who were never taken seriously by the autism research community, & were shunned by the media after the Disneyland measles outbreak showed the public health consequences of anti-vaccine disinfo.

And now RFK Jr. has resurrected them.
Welp, we have a new IACC (Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee), the US government’s advisory panel for autism issues. It is entirely planted with worst case pseudosciencers who will “Fight Against Autism”—and ignore autistic rights and needs. Just awful news.
