On those who yearn for "when this is all over" in the passive voice, "finding common ground" with so-called family values Republicans, and the valorization of incrementalism.

When this is over
Recently, I’ve had a couple conversations about threats to child care, children, families, and educators abruptly cut short by someone interjecting that it is equally important to lay the groundwork f...

Already seeing really nasty posts not show solidarity to other cities and imply they could have gotten out of immense pain and harm if their mayors and governors "just did what Mamdani did" and "just played the game."

Every time I see a study trying to use AI to improve early childhood development it seems designed as a desperate wish for AI to be useful to a field where it has no practical application and likely never will. Secondarily, a grasp for funding in the over-funded shiny object of optimizing childhood.

I wonder if he had to practice the smile that is simultaneously convincingly happy to a very old man and also conveys to everyone else that he hates him and everything he stands for. He's not smizing.
He’s becoming Zohran’s own Club Chalamet

The Zohran press conference is your regular reminder that the entire administration folds like tissue paper at the slightest hint of confidence and conviction, and thus the fact that national democrats are playing a game of capitulation and weakness is exactly why they're all getting away with it

Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

This is why I said there's no path to achieving socialist goals like Medicare for All if Jeffries becomes speaker btw
Laughing at Donald Trump saying he'd definitely feel comfortable living in Zohran Mamdani's New York on the same day that half the consultant brain-poisoned Democratic party voted to condemn socialism

we have PrEP because of these monkey studies. animal welfare in medical research is extremely strictly limited and regulated to ensure ethical use. there is no replacement for these animal models in biomedical research.
EXCLUSIVE: CDC to end all monkey studies. Decision handed down by recent college grad and former DOGE employee who is now deputy chief of staff at the agency. Animals were being used in studies of HIV prevention. Some may be euthanized. My latest for @science.org
Exclusive: CDC to end all monkey research
Studies related to HIV and other infectious diseases will be phased out, sources say; fate of the agency's animals remains unclear

Rep Velazquez has been a tremendous champion for universal child care, even when our state work had no traction at the federal level. She has consistently used her influence to urge Governor Hochul to do the right thing for the child care workforce. I'm so grateful for her leadership.

A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

he is also copying policies from some other campaign, referring to my Manhattan district as “the American Southwest”.

I’m sorry but he seems to have zero interest in actual local issues which is a massive red flag for me

Josh Riley won't have town halls for his constituents in Binghamton or Ithaca, won't respond to our concerns, and took advantage of the people who knocked on doors for him. He doesn't care about his base. He's done exactly what Anthony Brinidisi did to become a one term member.
“Upstate New York has a deep tradition of folks looking out for one another—and that’s exactly what Ground Truth is all about.”

Rep. Josh Riley (NY-19) is right & the Swing Left community is already having one-on-one conversations to connect with swing district voters and help flip the House.

Congressman Josh Riley has refused to reschedule a public appearance with Tompkins County Democrats after he canceled the County Democrats' BBQ this summer.
Josh Riley found time to meet with a group of pro-Terawulf data center Republicans from Lansing, including the guys who tried to unseat Dems.

Any time XX Democrats vote with Republicans to do something heinous and anti-democratic, a certain group of insider-y establishment heads will go "uh well 200 Republicans voted for it and that's worse!"

Great, so we agree, all of these people should lose their jobs.

The Democrats who keep voting to make Trump (and even themselves) king of DC should be banned from any pro-democracy protest because they are not, in fact, pro-democracy or anti-Trump.
November 20, 2025 at 3:24 AM
As I said earlier, this was Stefanik as a NY Republican litigating New York bullshit through imposing authoritarianism on DC and of course all of our worst Dems went right along with it.
These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

Another odd vote: Nancy Mace (R-SC) brought a resolution to censure Cory Mills (R-FL) and remove him from two committees due to his violence against a pair of women. Mills asked for the resolution to be referred (tabled) and over half the Dems agreed. It has been tabled 309-104-12

By a vote of 233-190, a bill to repeal over 90% of DC's 2022 police reforms passes the House 233-190.

20 Democratic members of the House voted yea. Waiting for the roll call to find out who.

I understand the reasoning behind zeroing in on ICE & DHS abducting citizens. But when you lead with what's perceived as your most sympathetic cases, you cede the moral high ground & make arguing for others harder. It is wrong for armed, masked gestapo to grab people - doesn't matter their status.

I should not have to shield my eyes while I drive by a stopped police car, that is exactly the opposite of what they want me to do! the cadence of the flickering is a nightmare.
Cop cars in particular. I get auras from their flashing lights these days. I suspect that means they can cause seizures too.
It is genuinely insane how bright and distracting car lights are now
