The wait time for a consult was over a year - and I pointed out I didn’t think I could last a year given I was only 90lbs

The reply? MAiD can be arranged in 3 months if the wait times are unacceptable

I was so shocked & appalled that I lodged a complaint - only to be told they did nothing wrong /3

Tesla nerds flew into a rage over a tweet in which the Center for Auto Safety (a nonprofit founded by Ralph Nader more than 50 years ago) roasted the Cybertruck. So I got in touch with the organization’s director, who told me why the vehicle’s design is uniquely dangerous:

It’s time to take medicine back from the suits. Truly, these people have no conscience, no ethics, and I hope they never sleep soundly again for the rest of their lives - literally everyone involved, they are involved in a truly ghoulish industry.

A Michigan law requires coverage of cancer drugs. One insurer came up with a “defensible” way to avoid paying for treatments that offered Forrest VanPatten his last chance for survival. “We cros...

The best part about this is that the only definitive testing I’ve seen released showed some of the letters were just baking soda. So whoever sent these probably really believed in “fentanyl exposure” lol. I’m sure law enforcement will know where to look
someone mailed letters with fentanyl in the envelopes to election offices in multiple states, and a correspondent on CBS says that law enforcement is looking at far left groups in the Pacific Northwest and I hate to break it to them but

I’ve been thinking about ceasefires. In my experience, 3 elements are normally needed. Readiness by both sides to stop fighting (on conditions). A broker to negotiate a deal. And int supervision to give confidence that both sides will respect the terms. Gaza conflict is not at this point yet 1/6

Part of the appeal of cutting edge tech is the (mis-)belief that it will magically solve hard, complex and messy problems.

The alternative is facing the need to make hard decisions to solve wicked problems.

This is a fun one. I asked 29,000 Americans how they primarily organize their books.

- 29% don't organize their books
- 22% sort by genre
- 19% alphabetize
- 3% sort by color

But it turns out this depends HEAVILY on how many books you own. My story: today.yougov.com/society/arti...
