A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Tim Cook and Andy Jassy—and the rest—are accommodating an authoritarian who is presiding over a secret police force killing American citizens. The blood of Renee Good and Alex Pretti is on the hands of those who enable Trump. Hope they like the movie.
On tonight’s White House agenda:

Trump and guests will get a private screening of MELANIA, the documentary about the First Lady, @thr.com reports.

Attendees include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, Mike Tyson, per the article.

If you work at Apple, Zoom, Amazon and AMD (not to mention Palantir or Nvidia) i think you should organize, unionize, and hold your fascist enabling CEO accountable.

You are powerful together
An insane, perfect encapsulation of it all:

The same day Trump’s agents kill a Veterans Affairs ICU nurse in broad daylight, the CEOs of Apple and Amazon join Trump to watch a private screening of a film about his wife directed by an alleged sexual abuser who was seen shirtless in the Epstein Files

The entire country could strike until we get a safe democracy.
I am seeing quite a few nurses calling for a nationwide strike over the killing of Alex Pretti. I think we are seeing one of the largest workforces being radicalized before our very eyes.

I haven’t had senators in a while. A state with 1M people having as many as CA and TX is wacky to put it mildly.

Good movement. Interesting to frame a withdrawal as pro-law enforcement. May be where more of them land.

Would like to see our over-representative delegation support impeachment, tribunals and a truth and reconciliation process.

Minnesotans, and all Americans, have been made less safe by ICE's reckless and unlawful behavior.

I refuse to support this current package of funding bills as federal agents shoot Americans in the street.

Not even 'both sides' here - the crucial bit is removed out from the parents' statement (giving the false impression that they did not rebut the administration's lies), while the administration's lie is presented without rebuttal. Truly appalling stuff.
And yet the BBC omitted this detail from his parents overnight statement..

"The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs,”

One interesting thing to monitor, as the Trump administration pushes its narrative defending the actions of federal immigration officers who shot and killed Alex Pretti, for some MAGA people this appears to be a breaking point

Remember that the legal standard for deadly force is whether the agent reasonably believed that he was in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury.

That is the only question that matters. And that standard is plainly not met by what we see in the video.

Noem:

"An individual approached US border patrol officers... The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently."

Video footage from multiple angles proves that this is outright bullshit.

Alex Pretti did not approach ICE officers nor did he react violently.

Noem lies shamelessly: "An individual approached order Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic gun. The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently. This looks like a situation where an individual arrived to inflict maximum damage and kill law enforcement"

We are seeing ordinary citizens — a children’s face painter and a doctor — come forth with sworn affidavits to describe the killing of the Minneapolis nurse.

In case you were wondering what courage looks like.

SCOTUS is a threat to the survival of our society.
Don't forget the Supreme Court's role facilitating ICE's brutality and racism in Minneapolis. SCOTUS lifted an injunction that limited racial profiling in immigration enforcement on Sept. 8. The federal assault on Chicago began the next day. Then came the Twin Cities. SCOTUS greenlit these horrors.
