Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

Why would this _ever_ be a President's top priority?
Leavitt: At this moment in time, the ballroom is really the president's main priority.

In addition to this being very confusing, it's heartbreaking to observe in people that you've come to care about. In your immediate vicinity and parasocially.
I (and perhaps you) get confused because we think intellect has to be connected with wisdom or thoughtfulness, but it just doesn’t. Intelligence is values-neutral and amplifies whatever it is pointed at.

I feel so seen.
"I have a decent fluency in LLMs, and they have utility, but the absurd degree of over-hype, the way they're being forced on everyone, and the insistence on ignoring the many valid critiques about them make it very difficult to focus on legitimate uses where they might add value."

I'm sick after seeing the video of Charlie Kirk being shot.

Violence against civilians is never okay. Political violence — no matter who is hurt — will always beget worse political violence. And it has no place in our country.

Why don’t we have survivors provide copies to every Rep exclusive of partisanship and have everyone read it together?

Wouldn’t want any names to be accidentally missed.
This is a brilliant way to use speech or debate clause protections.

“Saying..I’ve never dealt with money much before..” [in the context of money and politics] “…does not make you a good person. It makes you ignorant. It makes you ineffective…like showing up to a knife fight with a couple of wet socks.”

Excellent commentary.
The scary headlines about "Chorus, a sEcReT dArK mOnEy gRoUp" have been absolutely wild to watch.

Because I'm in Chorus, & it's been a godsend.

Without it, I wouldn't be able to cover the US's massive modern-day farm slavery problem- at all.

Fucking no. No. This is literally the worst idea I have ever heard. This is absolutely not useful.

Best take I’ve seen on this so far. Everything happening now has happened before and likely will again. There is comfort in that if you know where to look.
I keep seeing people say things like, “Well we’re not going to HAVE elections,” and with all due respect, I think this is both wildly pessimistic and also wildly naive.

We are not going to have free and fair elections. We also have not had them in the past.

I used to work at RadioShack in college and I once sold headphones to members of Hoobastank. They were super chill, grabbed the pair I recommended, and when I mentioned that I was a fan of their first album, they invited me to their show later that evening. Totally went and had a great time.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

This is really quite amazing. I’m not sure what delights me the most. The fact that 2/3 of Joy is Sadness? Sadsad in its own category? Or perhaps the backwards ‘s’ in Aggressiv that resembles but is definitely not an ‘e’? Couldn’t choose.

Laughs…we’re in danger.

Or the federal government for 10 years.
