The terrifying prospect that *every single droid* in the Star Wars universe is actually remote-controlled by a humanoid somewhere, because they someone couldn't back down from the sales pitch for AI robots.

I love to contrast Napster, internet archive, public libraries, etc. with arguments made for allowing companies with number averaging programs being allowed to steal all information so they can sell back the blended up outputs to us.
Britain's future is in Jamster subscriptions, and if they aren't allowed to have all of your music to sell as ringtones then Jamster and therefore the UK will fall into bankruptcy and ruin. I've never used Jamster myself, but the executives I met yesterday were very clear about this.
The Labour government’s plan for economic growth, public service reform, and thus its electoral hopes, rest on the country adopting AI.

But its strategy of breathlessly bigging up bleeding-edge AI and pursuing massive data center investments is not cutting through to voters, MPs fear.

Markets are already riven with risk, why introduce more volatility? Based on the efficiency of open source models and the progress from improving fundamentals has given, it seems like Softbank investing in hyperscale is a net negative for tech progress.

Good design is accessible design.
There has been a shift in the Trump team's language in their anti-DEI attacks. All of a sudden they started calling it "DEIA", with the A being "accessibility". If you don't think it's a coordinated effort to remove disabled people from every facet of life, well I have news for you.
17 states are suing to overturn section 504.

The difficulty lies in the desire to treat color blindness like a feature flag instead of a design task. It’s too easy to get a task and throw a filter on instead of reconsidering how someone views the color hue and contrast.
A thread on colourblindness & #gamedev -

If your approach to colourblindness is full screen filters, you're *doing it wrong*, and causing more problems that you're solving.

If you see a game that has filters, they're doing it wrong. If you see a game that has a 'strength' slider - don't copy it.

There are plenty of scenarios in which spending time and money on features and options is the appropriate solution to barriers.

But don't let yourself end up in a situation where you have spend money on them solely to compensate for unnecessarily exclusionary design choices.
