We’ve talked about this before, but we wanted to expand on it a little more. Late last week, Elon Musk’s so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) effectively took control of the Department of the Interior without a single Senate confirmation, public hearing, or vote.

Feel like any headline that leaves out that Canadians need to SUBMIT TO BEING FINGERPRINTED is being derelict.
For anyone else digging into what this headline actually means, here's the story.

tl;dr Canadians staying longer than 30 days in the US will need to register with the govt starting April 11.

Quick check to see who our allies are now: if 9/11 happened today, who would actually help us find who did it? Canada? No. The EU? No. We are alone except for Israel and maybe Russia, which is too preoccupied to help, and whose “help” would be bad. We are so incredibly unsafe and effectively fucked.

So why did so many executives at Fortune 500 companies vote for him and donate to his campaign?

They saw him do stupid protectionism in his first term, and could easily see that the responsible economic leaders who kept up some guardrails wouldn't be a part of the administration this time.

Whoops.
Doug Ford: "It's not even the Republicans I speak to. Behind closed doors, all of them are saying, 'This is crazy, what's he doing.' CEOs of the largest Fortune 500 companies are telling him, 'This does not work. Protectionism doesn't work.'"

One of my companies informed me they cancelled a $2m conference in Florida. Why ?

They didn’t feel they could pass on the incremental cost of tariffs. So they are cutting expenses.

That’s a city that lost a ton of tourism revenue.
