Don’t forget that *Trump’s own lawyer’s argument* to the Supreme Court in the immunity case was that the check on the President using his immunity to order criminal acts was that those under him would not follow illegal orders. Now it’s a crime for lawmakers to remind servicemembers of that?
The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

This is the risk that comes when deferring to make certain upgrades to the roster until the trade deadline vs. the offseason. Giving themselves some financial flexibility for in-season moves can be helpful but feels like a missed opportunity to add a more proven SP given the Cubs' prospect capital.
With trade deadline passed, Cubs additions are:
RHP Michael Soroka
RHP Andrew Kittredge
LHP Taylor Rogers
UT Willi Castro

Be interesting to hear Hoyer's thoughts soon on moves Cubs did/didn't make. But feels underwhelming given Cubs record, esp with what other NL teams (Phillies, Mets, Padres) did.

Trump 2017: "It is my pleasure and my honor to announce my nomination of Jerome Powell."

Trump today: "He's a terrible Fed chair. I was surprised he was appointed. I was surprised frankly that Biden put him in and extended him."

Every news story will include both clips, right?

A new era of government censorship has begun.
It started with the silencing of scientific speech, when the admin blocked release of research on bird flu. But MAGA has also cracked down on other wrongthink—on race, geography (!), and of course Trump himself

Nailed it.

Though for what it's worth, I think Mamdani's election has as much to do with his campaign/ideas/personality as it did with Cuomo rejection.

Damn‼️ Federal agents blew a door off for this?

Federal agents blasted their way into an LA home where Jenny Ramirez lives with her boyfriend and two kids.

She heard the blast while checking on her 6-year-old, with her 1-year-old in her arms.

Ramirez says everyone in the home is a U.S. citizen.

The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?

Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence.

They are in charge.
