The NYPD officer killed by the active shooter was an immigrant from Bangladesh. He had 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. The US State Dept travel advisory for Bangladesh is level 3; “Reconsider Travel” for violence, crime and terrorism. He died here, for us, shot with a Colt M4 rifle. Think about that.

This is what got #Colbert fired (starting at the 2:00 mark). He rips into Paramount for bribing Tr*p to allow its merger. When I first saw it live I thought, “Is he really allowed to say this stuff?”

We are not tasked with "building" or "expanding" the Kingdom.
Jesus is a fully sovereign king.
He is bringing his Kingdom and he doesn't need any powers of this world to help him.
We are citizens, we are his witnesses, we are his ambassadors.
Knowing our role makes all the difference. 👑✝️

You don’t even have to be Christian to know this. How are we messing this up so badly?
Somewhere along the way, a majority of Christians got it in their heads that their job as followers of Jesus is to tell people who *aren’t* Christians that their behavior is “sinful.”

But it’s not. The job of Christians is to simply shut up and love people through selfless acts of kindness.

The American govt no longer has any concept of dignity or honor. I think about all of the men and women who gave their lives for our country, and what a joke this administration has made of their sacrifices. The American people are not a joke or a toy, but our leaders think we are.

“The Gospel is a suicide mission”

Christians are called to give their lives in suffering and service for God and others.

Beautiful quote there, @bonhoefferchild.bsky.social
When Christians follow and act like Christ, Caesar will also do Caesar does: oppress and suppress.

The Gospel is a suicide mission.

Caesar’s persecution is painful but welcome. Better to be counted with Christ than seated next to Caesar.

Truly, what a great legacy to leave to this world. Such a wonderful man. Given the opportunity to wield so much power, yet chose to use his platform to raise the cause of the poor and the outcasts.
How annoyed were the traditionalists at the Vatican obsessed with the pomp of the Catholic Church appearing ALL POWERFUL trying to plan the Pope's funeral and then he was like, "Yeah, just toss my ass in a wooden crate and let a hooker bury me, idgaf, peace be upon you. Francis out."

America isn't a Christian country. It's a country where Christianity has the freedom to exist. There's a difference.
