North Korea’s dictator needs some attention too!

North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles toward the sea Sunday, its neighbors said, just hours before South Korea’s president leaves for China for talks expected to cover North Korea’s nuclear program.

Yes, good luck, Taiwan!
What does the U.S. say if China invades Taiwan?
What if China vigorously enforces its sovereignty claims (illegal under international law) in the South China Sea? What would be the argument against China?
Good luck, Taiwan.

William Joyce (Lord Haw-Haw) was a Nazi radio propagandist. With his mocking English accent, the mysterious radio host broadcast to the UK from a German station, spreading rumours and exaggeration in the early days of World War Two.

Of course, China and Russia will sit this one out. Open invasion of another sovereign state is “okay” now! 😬
Russia and China already know that the president of the United States is helping to clear the way for their adventures—and they should keep their faux-outrage to themselves.

Diversionary war theory argues that unpopular leaders facing domestic strife (economic woes, scandals) start foreign conflicts or crises to distract the public, boost nationalism via a "rally around the flag" effect, and consolidate power.
🤔💭🤨
It’s hard to believe a president would time an illegal military attack to distract the public’s attention, but today is the statutory deadline for DOJ to release its report on the Epstein file production. Maybe it is just a coincidence.

Fareed Zakaria makes an important argument.

IS OPEN UNAPOLOGETIC CONQUEST BACK IN THE 21ST CENTURY?
Fareed Zakaria argues that the Ukraine war is the ultimate test case. It is a referendum on whether conquest is back—openly, unapologetically—in 21st-century geopolitics.
