📖Remembering the Covenants in Song, 2019.
Imagine that someone at your school, church, or company was implicated in trafficking, pedophilia, rape, and extensive cover-ups.
What about racist posts?

There is no way that you would ignore it or defend it.

You would demand justice.

It should be no different for the rich & powerful.

Sooo, Mike McDonald seems to be good at coaching defense.
Is Conor stealing NE signs? 😏

I wish I could've understood more of the lyrics, but I understood the universal language of a people who are unabashedly celebrating their culture and are proud to be who they are.
Will never tire of seeing people celebrate the beauty of their unique culture.🇵🇷

On a local political ad a candidate began with the first line of the Apostle's Creed affirming belief in God.
Then he talked about believing in strong families and seamlessly went into believing in a strong nation.

Note how subtly & insidiously the idol of nationalism gets wed to Christianity.

For those who continue to defend the indefensible, it reveals a disordered commitment to power and a disregard for your neighbors.

To ignore and be complicit in abhorrent crimes and cover ups is a horrible price to pay for power.
Justice may be slow, but it will be done.⚖️

Beautiful day at White Rock. Got to see the goats tending the landscape. It was good to get out and walk. I needed to get away from the ugliness on my news feeds. 🌅

The response is as significant and telling as the original racist post.

The racism, the arrogance, the lack of self awareness, the disregard for humanity are all on display.

To the 81% where is the breaking point?
How far is too far?

Racism is evil and an affront to the Creator - the one who imbues all with the imago Dei.

You cannot explain, defend, or justify it.

What was posted is racist.

The only right response is to call it what it is, denounce it, and call those who perpetuate it to account.

Why do we have Black History Month, our current events make it clear that America still hasn't understood its own history.

Without knowing and understanding Black History, we will continue to struggle with racism, inequality, and injustice. ⚖️

Followers of Jesus should never use Machiavellian justifications to support any policy, action, or agenda that transgresses Jesus' moral-ethical teachings.

Justice cannot be defined by a national agenda. Any scales other than those established by the LORD are crooked. #Rom13

If my citizenship no longer protects me from the abuse of power, the loss of my rights, and even my citizenship, your citizenship is no more secure.

But if your citizenship is more secure, then the discrimination is not about citizenship, law, or order. Iykyk

Loved seeing Mark Aguirre get his number retired.
May not have left Dallas on the best terms, but so glad he's home now. That 24 has to be in he rafters with 22 and 12.

Those 80s Mavs teams were such a huge part of my childhood and the reason I fell in love with basketball. #24 #MFFL 🏀

3× All-Star
2× NBA Champion
No. 1 overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft

Congrats to the Mavericks legend!

Teaching at a seminary, one of the things student seem most impacted by is when I encourags them to pursue faithfulness, not performance, productivity, & platform.
I urge them to let the Spirit do what is his and for us to do what is ours. It's liberating. Jesus' yoke really is better. #shalom

To all who speak as Christians, our words, our responses, and attitudes re ICE's abuse of power and dehumanizing acts reflect our beliefs, our character, our theology, and the nature of our worship.

We cannot bear the name of Christ while trampling on his teaching and those he loves. 💔

A long walk in the cold night air was a good way to calm my heart and mind.

And some delicious budae Jjigae, 부대찌개 (Korean army base stew) was the perfect way to warm up after. Comfort food is called such for a reason.♨️🍲🍜🥟

My heart is all over the place.💔 Taking a walk when the world is frigid, silent, and empty was a respite.

Will continue to pray and seek ways to be light where I can.

Lord be near to the crushed in spirit, to the broken hearted.❄️🕯️

One additional note on Rom 13: this is an example of casuistic teaching by Paul. He provides the church with a contextualized principle for being good neighbors in their particular setting.

Love your neighbor, do justice, love mercy, walk humbly w God are timeless commands.
The difference matters.

Immunity does not mean law enforcement/gov personnel can deny an individual their constitutional rights, due process, humane treatment, and their right to life.
No authority has such power under the law.

Any failure requires a transparent investigation and full accountability.⚖️
January 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM
The Bible condemns corrupt authorities, the abuse of power, & their injustice.
God abhors this.

Rom 13 should not be used to justify corrupt, abusive, unjust acts by earthly authorities.
ICE violates their own Constitution & disobeys their own laws.

THEY violate Rom 13.
Let the wise understand.

God is clear about the sins of kidnapping (man-stealing), murder, and bearing false witness.

God is clear about his care for foreigners, neighbors, the poor, and those on the margins.

Righteousness, justice, mercy, and love for neighbor are not conditional standards for Jesus' followers.
January 24, 2026 at 8:36 PM
The lack of principle and integrity is exposed when the call for justice, for due process, for respecting one's rights, for accountability, for respecting the constitution - these core values are cast aside in order to support an agenda, in order to fabricate a narrative. ⚖️
