Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

the idea the dems have to hold onto the "moral highground" by not counter gerrymandering is so dumb. nobody gives a fuck about the moral high ground. the president is literally rapist

all of the Supreme Court’s jurisprudence about executive power - all of it - can be replaced with a simple flow chart. is the president a Republican? if so it’s ok. if not, it’s presumptively not ok.

What matters is that Cuomo and all the people who endorsed him are still going to claim they're the rightful heirs to the Democratic Party, how dare young people challenge them, all of that.

The difference is they're now just unaffiliated lunatics, banging on the windows. They're not the party.

Los Angeles specifically is the realest America, imo.
not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns

los angeles is "real america" and so are all the other big cities the president hates

Yeah. I've written my book take and am done w the Biden subject, but one question is whether the norms around elderly, ailing politicians can/should survive this.

You feel bad when a colleague is ailing and you want him to bounce back. But you are not in the feelings business. You are governing.
The reason the Biden story won't go away is that the "Biden Inner Circle Coverup" story is the "Feinstein on Judiciary" story is the "Connolly instead of AOC on Oversight" story is the "Republicans are about to pass their Medicaid killer bill because 3 Dems have literally died in their seats" story.

What the actual fuck USC. I am an Alumni and forget asking me for my dollars here on out
We know that Amazon & SpaceX are suing to find the NLRB unconstitutional. Now joining Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk: USC, which is in a labor fight with non-tenure-track faculty members over unionizing.
A rare university attack on government to join the government attack on universities.
USC Follows Amazon and Musk’s SpaceX in Calling Labor Board Unconstitutional
To block a union that would represent 2,500 faculty members, the private university echoed a corporate argument.

LEADER MERKLEY NOW
Sen. Jeff Merkley said Schumer’s reversal made his own opposition even more of a “hell no.”

“You don’t stop a bully by handing over your lunch money,” Merkley told CNN. “That’s exactly what this House spending bill does.”

Democrats who vote no on cloture while not making a peep about the Senate leadership who are voting yes are COMPLICIT. They are playing you. They are in on it.
Wait I thought most were voting no?

I argued that the party was worth saving and yet the leader of the Senate approves of supporting the destruction of our government. I begged my leftist friends to vote Dem as it was better than the alternative and I've been made a fool. Burn this party down. I hope Schumer rots
Democrats briefly had leverage over Trump and they threw it away as fast as possible because they're scared of power and scared of resistance. Primary every single last one of them. Burn the party to the ground. Ruin their lives for this

Idk enough about his actual race but i will happily donate to any primary challenger for Jeffries
Jeffries sends a letter to Democrats saying "The decision to attend the Joint Session is a personal one and we understand that members will come to different conclusions. However, it is important to have a strong, determined and dignified Democratic presence in the chamber."

Marker: If there is a ‘fever breaking’ moment for Trump (recession, shocker special election result, etc) and it becomes clear that there isn’t going to be a thousand year trumpenreich, you’re going to see a scramble of belated efforts from places like SCOTUS to prove they are totally independent
It’s not like we were short on evidence for this, but the Supreme Court’s silence in response to Trump’s announcement that he’s just going to ignore a 5-year-old ruling really shows how worthless the Court is as an institution for “doing justice” ballsandstrikes.org/scotus/trump...
The Supreme Court Is Abandoning Trans People to Donald Trump
The justices often say the Court’s role is to “say what the law is.” They are already letting Trump do that job for them.
