the fact that there was speculation that eisenhower wouldnt seek a second term cause he was too old/in too poor health at only 66 years old feels quaint compared to how things are today

the problem with labor for the democrats is that there are fewer and fewer people who are members of unions, so focusing on spending political capital on things like bailing out the teamsters yields shrinking returns, whereas the general strategy of trying to expand union membership is good
