While US venture capitalists were buying monkey jpegs, and DOGE coins, and figuring out how to get Black women fired, and tweeting about white birthrates, and trying to mandate which bathroom trans kids should use, China was making progress on climate change and taking the lead in a real industry.

Believing the "AI industry" is a monolith with an evil plan regarding specifically how folks use AI is as odd as believing the food industry is a monolith that cares what recipes folks cook.
Pretty much my take on the AI industry’s effort to disrupt journalism and destroy good journalism, jobs and livelihoods.
“Education is one of those areas where every asshole thinks they know what’s best, and where supposed innovators think undermining teachers is a net positive.”

Disability is a minority group you can join at any time
Many of us were “young & otherwise healthy” when we became ill
We were working & couldn’t imagine being unable to earn a living
We didn’t plan to become disabled. We didn’t plan to stop working
It can happen to anyone

It was a rejection of the entire administration and Dems should see this as a signal to become an actual opposition party. On everything. You don't stop the shutdown. You don't approve another appointee. You do nothing at all. The voters saved you, not the other way around. LEARN TO LEAD.
On a call with reporters, DNC chair Ken Martin responds to JD Vance claiming Dems only won big last night because races were in blue states.
"Well that's bullshit. We won in red counties, blue counties, purple counties," Martin says. And it was all "a rejection of Trump."

Beating the sh*t out of ourselves when we stumble doesn't help anyone-- but it sure pleases our bullies & abusers. They'd LOVE to know we're talking to ourselves the way they talked to us.
Don't give them that satisfaction. Scratch the record.

SNAP *is* the safety net. it’s not just another benefit or program, as some wonks have framed it. if republicans don’t follow the law, this will — not could, will — turn into a humanitarian disaster like nothing we’ve seen in my lifetime. this can get lost in the policyspeak.

Why are you surrendering your own ability to type to voice dictation software?

Why are you surrendering your own ability to type to voice dictation software?
Finding out there's a keyboard holder who uses voice dictation for getting started on writing instead of improving their typing speed (the actual problem with not wanting to manually type) makes me feel insane. How did you get through life without knowing how to use a keyboard?
