With this vote, Congress makes ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in history, with more money per year at its disposal over the next four years than the budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons combined.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

The Senate has officially surrendered to Trump's crypto corruption.

Lawmakers turned a blind eye to the largest, most flagrant corruption in presidential history and passed a bill to legitimize Trump's massive scam.

This is such a good example of "turn every page" journalism - nothing less fun/glam than clicking through every footnote.

And it's roughly 10,000x more newsy than the thumbsucker RFK profiles reported with big travel budgets.

Horrifying and yet all too believable.

And a clear case where the actions of the administration set the entire country back: of course the patients and families her research could have helped, but also the broad financial impact her research could have generated.
Almost every line of this story would have been simply unbelievable a few months ago:

—Pioneering cancer researcher;
—*Arrested* at airport in Boston;
—Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana;
—"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research.

Read it.
