When I teach Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 ("Let me not to the marriage of true minds") The Princess Bride is how I explain the love ("true love") in the poem. Wesley doing anything and everything to survive and make it back to Buttercup. Love, baby:"It is the star to every wandering bark."

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

Last week, I had a final where 2 students showed. There is no final. I told them I had planned on watching Misery. They hadn't seen it. Jaws dropped throughout. They were terrified for Paul as much as they were focused on the film. After they raved about it.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.
