White supremacists successfully rewrote history after the Civil War, so much so that today people deny what the slave states had proudly proclaimed back then: it was about slavery. And now this group is rewriting history today. They are lying. They are liars. They are liars.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social voted present on impeachment last month.
Jeffries: "The Constitution isn't a matter of inconvenience. It is a requirement. George Washington in his farewell address to the nation made clear that the Constitution is sacredly obligatory upon all. That means everybody. There is no Trump exception."

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

Remember how appalled we all were in 2022 when Russia completely unprovoked attacked Ukraine? That is what we’re doing tonight with Venezuela. We are the bad guys here. Everyone who supports this is supporting unprovoked murder. Fuck every last one of them

THE DAY CARES ARE LOCKED BECAUSE YOU MADE A GENERATION-LONG EFFORT TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE TO KILL THE CHILDREN INSIDE THEM YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING GHOULS
these fucking people. they pass laws to make sure every person with a screw loose who wants an Armalite can show up to the day care armed & ready to kill, then complain that the day cares are locked to protect the children inside
CNN: “Surely you don’t think a daycare should be unlocked.”

SHIRLEY: “There should be a reception area.”

CNN: “No, every day care is locked.”

SHIRLEY: “Fair point.” 🤔

He shows up to a day care with masked men and wonders why they don’t let him in.

It was reprehensible when people mocked condom usage at the height of the AIDS pandemic.

It is just as depraved to mock those wearing masks to reduce the spread of airborne viruses today.

Whenever someone takes any kind of step to protect public health, they should be applauded, not mocked.

One of my favorite presents ever—my dad found and framed this pic of my mother @sunminkimes.bsky.social at a Seattle courthouse after she passed her US citizenship test in 1981. Like so many of the people who come here to start a new life, she is the best of us—the bravest, strongest person I know.

I spent the last few nights "drugcembering." It was glorious. Rock ain't dead yet, with some assistance from Craig Finn and Joe Walsh. Yeah, THAT Joe Walsh. God Bless The War On Drugs.
What's it like to "Drugcember?" Well, for a band like The War On Drugs, and the fans who gather to watch them return to the amazing Johnny Brenda's, it's a gosh darn holiday miracle. With special guest appearances from Craig Finn and Joe Walsh. Review and photos: xpn.org/the-war-on-d...

There’s room for somebody on the left to wrap themselves in the flag a little & make a point that the right’s rejection of America as a creedal nation—and their ad hoc, ahistorical effort to make it an ethnonationalist project instead—is distinctly *unamerican,* a rejection of the national project.
If immigrating from England makes you a "heritage American" then I guess I'm one too.
