The inhuman dreams of the tech elite. No one told these people that space is pretty deadly to life?

BREAKING: A source tells me that the Trump administration has shut down public access to every single National Climate Assessment, the Congressionally-mandated quadrennial report assessing how climate change is affecting the U.S.

This is what you get when you try to access them online

Quick, someone tell me why this is bad

I agree with Altman that policy makers need to become more nimble. No policies or total permissive policies are not the answer here. Quick adaption of policy to handle a rapidly developing technology is paramount

Yup, this is how to succeed
It took a liberal-Left alliance to defeat Cuomo. Big props to Lander for being a man of principle who refused to punch Left

At the same time, Zohran smartly rejected a widespread leftist tendency to treat liberals and liberalism only as ideological competitors to be fought

Diplomacy in a social media world. Declaring victory is more important than a sustained effort to resolve conflict
Oh so it turns out solving a middle eastern conflict isn't as simple as doing a flyover, dropping a couple payloads, and calling it done? Damn, who could have guessed

I think a reframe is justified: the media likes making money. Trump and war make them money
the media likes trump, likes war, and so crafts their coverage to try to help trump (who they like) start a war (a thing they like).

easy to see in their coverage today where a token, pre-annoucned and de-escalatory strike by iran that hit no targets was covered like it was pearl harbor
Wow. 48 hours later, news really seems to have normalized the whole extra-legal, on-a-whim-and-vibe, strategically short-sighted Iran attacks.

Already being discusses as "how will it play" and "what's the risk for the Republicas."

More like because he’s a weak and insecure simpleton who folds like a house of cards
Let's be clear: Trump is thinking of entering a war against Iran without Congressional authorization or legal basis because his birthday parade was a dud and he thinks the war will produce arousing pictures for him to look at on Fox News.

I'm here for the dreams. Mamdani has dreams of a better place. We need more dreams and fewer criminals and sex offenders, and less corruption
I like Mamdani as a person but wouldn’t rank him first for the same reasons the Times lists. Lander for sure. But the idea that the monstrous guy who has ALREADY SPECTACULARLY FAILED poses a greater risk than the guy who hasn’t done much and dreams big is a sign of a deeply corrupted politics.

One amazing image that shows one fatal flaw in media
But if a few people in masks start lighting stuff on fire? Then you have news. This creates an *enormous* attentional advantage towards the most violent and chaotic kind of protest.

Is this the constitutional crisis that will matter?
BREAKING: Gov. Newsom is asking for a restraining order on Trump/Hegseth's use of the military in Los Angeles, saying they are preparing to go on immigration raids with ICE.

He wants a ruling within two hours. "They must be stopped immediately."
