Another year, another $350 a month increase in health insurance. Why do freelancers charge so much, you might ask? Because our health insurance is practically 2x our mortgage and going up 15% PER YEAR.
I cannot raise my prices by 15% per year. Everything about healtcare in the U.S. is fucked.

"The Cruelty Is the Point" was something I was seeing said online a lot, but it didn't hit home for me the scope of it until this morning when I realized - a lot of us with empathy are feeling pretty terrorized by everything that is going on. That's not an accident either.

I have been pondering the idea for a while, and I think maybe the TTRPG industry should consider naming an award for TTRPG advocacy after Rob Wieland. He helped so many companies over the years with his actions, and that could be one way to honor him. Maybe something the ENNIEs could do?
