Done holiday errands. Any large store I bought from (Wawa, Boscovs) was fine but when I supported a locally owned business (local deli, table top gaming store) I had to call my bank to unflag suspicious activity on my account. Financial institutions don't want us shopping small. Shop small anyway.

I loved BlueSky for a long time. We can talk about specific dramatic moments and strange decisions by the dev team but no one thing has broken the camels back. The vibe on BlueSky is just not what it was. Maybe they can bring it back but I no longer ask others to make an account here like I used to.
This recent stretch has been the least I’ve enjoyed social media since I left Twitter. Bluesky felt better for a while, but when you make your platform “Twitter 2011,” and both the users and platform owners fail to meaningfully chart a different course, it’s inevitably going to tread the same path.

It's not just me. I know of many Black people who land jobs in highly visible or prestigious places and become scapegoats for the resentments of others.
I can tell you some of the most horrible experiences with racism have come downstream from the idea that I beat a out a white person for a job. Even when I in fact did not. The fantasy is enough to translate into physically threatening harrasment
