Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

I had a whole story ready to publish about this convention center vote, but Yaroslavsky's speech — one of the most powerful I’ve ever seen on the council floor — said it better than I ever could. It's a must-read, and I also included a link to the video
"This expansion is unrealistic, unaffordable, and fiscally irresponsible"
Katy Yaroslavsky's words are about the city's convention center — but they are really about the city

If there's anything funny about this -- debatable -- it's that Trump has an entire team of Project 2025/Federalist Society ghouls who have painstakingly built a foolproof backroom legal system to legitimize fascism and then Trump just goes THEY CAN'T MAKE FUN OF ME I'LL SUE and gives it all away

The mortgage fraud claim against Lisa Cook is false, per documents obtained by Reuters.

Bill Pulte's accusation, the sole pretext Trump used to fire her from the Fed, was that she claimed two homes as primary residence.

These docs show she did not.

A loan estimate for an Atlanta home purchased by Lisa Cook, the Federal Reserve governor accused of mortgage fraud by the Trump administration, shows that Cook had declared the property as a “vacation home,” according to a document reviewed by Reuters.

Seconding all of this, especially the part about Jay Bhattacharya getting briefings from people who actually understand how #NIH works.

It’s disheartening to hear him repeatedly & inaccurately trash NIH in public appearances when he hasn’t even bothered to learn what NIH has been doing.
I hope everyone is having a good Fourth of July break. Here is how I ended up spending some of mine...

This is an actual sentence written by a managing editor at the Times. You printed his alias so that people could do their own research?!? If only you knew someone who had investigative reporters to look into the source!

Republicans did it.

Republicans did it without a single Democratic vote in the House, without a single Democratic vote in the Senate.
