I ate Taco Bell burrito and had coffee, I’m not sure I’m doing self care or self harm?

Maybe both are true?

Anyway it’s shot day later.

My favorite thing when grocery shopping these days is how something will be $2 and it will say, "2 for $4.00!" like it's a sale and I'm like yes that is what 2+2 equals

Your job, as a self-publisher, is to protect your rights and ownership of your works. This costs you money, time, effort and makes it all a bit harder. Be prepared. Save your investment monies every single week. You will need them and more for launch.

I don't want to pay the $50 revision fee to Ingram Spark when they said revisions would be free starting Jan 1. I also don't want to wait a whole month to hear back from support and in the meantime, have readers get the old version of the book. Ugh

I am probably just gonna pay the $50 so readers

Went to a kiddo's first bday party today and the host was awesome and got gluten free sandwich and cupcake options, which were really good. One year of gluten free and I think I officially have Stockholm syndrome for fake bread

The true secret to my long career: As a midlist writer hanging on to my career one book at a time, I can only control the work I do, not outcomes.
So I work: Drafting Novel W while waiting for edit notes on Novel F. When edits & draft are done, I'll return to the half finished & overdue Novel L.

Your book cover will also need the aid of design. This may be you. We are talking about the fonts on the cover. Each font is ART. You buy a license to use the font. You need the physical license in your publishing file. You may also need to pay a designer.

In your front matter you should DECLARE that no part of your novel is ai or uses ai. You should list your registrations and licenses in the front matter. Demonstrate you CAN defend your novel legally.

If you have ai, understand you are risking the removal of your novel.

Men are not showing up at the pool to swim. The ratio is striking - at least 5 to 1. I had a good swim today in a pool full of women with mostly male lifeguards. They were young, likely college age, and couldn't fix the broken lane rope. We swam anyway.

Document, document, document every detail of your self publishing based on copyright and licensing. There is an effort by big tech to strip intellectual property rights (including copyright) as these rights are seriously expensive to the creation of products.
