I am at most 15% kidding when I say that one of Jake Paul’s opponents finally turning down the money to take a dive for the chance to send his jaw 180° like Daffy Duck’s beak when Elmer shoots him is one of the strongest vibe shift indicators yet.

I think that's actually either two separate shots or shots from two separate cameras edited but it looks SO GOOD just the same

There's also some really beautiful, smooth, cinematography following her and the cat's movements. That whole movie is delicious eye candy.

"You asked for miracles, Theo. I give you the F..B..I.."

Alan Rickman' s enunciation of "F..B..I" high key..ASMR for me

Great thread. I need to write an essay on this movie and its influence on pop culture.
Im so very serious when I say there may not be a better pair of actors we have ever seen on screen than Kim Novak and the cat playing Pyewacket in Bell Book and Candle. As obvious and cliché as it may be, "spellbinding" is simply the best word to describe the effect of their work and chemistry...

This particular shot, is up there with Renée Jeanne Falconetti in The Passion of Joan of Arc as far as Im concerned. The power of the close up defined in its parameters.

"Run, shes got a baton!"

I hadn't seen Small Soldiers in forever, didn't particularly like it when it first came out, total revelation this time around for a number of reasons, but Sarah Michelle Gellar and Christina Ricci's voice work in these little ad libs for the barbies is def one...😭😭😭

Rob Reiner, despite the fact that alot of his filmography was too clean, too neat, not mean enough for my tastes, I dont know too many folks I could even mouth understood the rhythms and movements of pop cinema like Reiner..this skill and the level of that skill made many of his films undeniable..

I’ve been working on this one for a minute.

With Criterion releasing DAVID BYRNE’S AMERICAN UTOPIA, for @letterboxd.social I surveyed Spike Lee’s rich history as a musical director.

I disagree with the review, and I think everyone should watch Roofman
Watched Roofman (which I had no clue was a Cianfrance film ..nice to see him back) and through Im not altogether sold on the overall product, (good, not great) the central performances by Tatum (Career best imo) and Dunst (just another day at the office) are easily amongst my best of the year...

Also a winner from that movie! His character is one dimensional, but hes so good he puts rhe dimensions in there, the best line readings in the movie belong to Dinklage.
Peter Dinklage was funnier than he’d been since like Game of Thrones season 2

RIP to Rob Reiner and his wife. Reiner was one of the masters of the crowd pleaser, crafting the kind of films that are somehow both rare to see in contemporary cinemas and yet endlessly copied. This is such a brutal and tragic loss.
