This applies to coding, too. My process is to "mess around" for a bit until something clicks, and it's the little details that are the grit in the oyster that becomes the pearl. In contrast, skimming pages of vomited-up/buggy boilerplate are not fertile soil for critical thinking.
Using an LLM for ideation is nonsense. When I'm writing I'm organizing my thoughts -- the mental clarity is the product, not the text. What's the point of hallucinating an approximation of that vestigial document?

I'm not the first to say it, but I think we should absolutely start a campaign to convince all the worst people that K2 is a *much* more impressive mountain to climb than Everest and we would all be much more impressed by that achievement
People should stop climbing mt everest

I *wish* Valve would just accept they are as big as they are and actually get people on this task properly. I wish they had guidelines we could actually follow that were hard, fast rules that we’d be able to adhere to rather than some nebulous feeling from someone having a bad day.

Idle Star Trek thought -

When they wrap Strange New Worlds at the end of season 5, I’d love it if they did a 90-minute remake of The Menagerie with this cast and modern production.

If they can make that Section 31 movie, they can give me this to cap off Anson Mount’s run as Pike.

No. The Thing is a movie about a bunch of people who all distrust and hate each other trapped in one building as the tension between them slowly builds until it reaches a breaking point. It's a Thanksgiving movie.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

My advice to politicians: stay in your fucking lane.

Well, yes, that's the problem. It wouldn't be helping, it would just be making more work for me because I would have to clean up its prose. I want to write my own stuff, not edit what an LLM puts out. Plus I am more energy efficient.
I anticipate that if you asked an AI to help you write anything, the quality would be LESS than if you just did it yourself.
