Yeah, I see this all as very cynical but savvy advancement strategy. She's preparing for a post-Trump world most Rs aren't, and is reading the electorate better than Trump. Could be useful for now, but could be dangerous later. Although F*entes feels like even more dangerous post-Trump material.
I think her sudden acquisition of a moral compass is about positioning her to run for president 2028. She'll be the rebel within the party who toppled the American Caligula and his minions, giving former Trumpers permission to vote GOP without guilt because it's "no longer the party of Trump."
Good to see: @repyassansari.bsky.social tells me she expects 50 Republicans to vote to release Epstein files (agreeing w/MTG). Dems also want to bring in heads of financial institutions on Epstein transactions.

I do think the Senate Dems who refused to continue to fight when the biggest narrative around them is that they're weak and don't fight are going to be more of a drain on the entire party's image than Mamdani ever will be.

A word of caution about the new Axios report that Dem Senators are caving. Remember the NYT ran articles for months claiming that Harvard was caving, which.. never happened. Turns out their anonymous sources were Trump staffers. Axios may be similar.
But, it never hurts to call your Senator.
