One of our kid’s books is about birds, and some of the illustrated expressions are just great. Look at that Blackbird. Class clown. And what’s that dove smirking at. 🪶
As usual, the higher up the chain you are the more out of touch with reality. It’s insane that CEOs are the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet but are sociopathic enough to grab the most power and money
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

"Conservative groups, funded by fossil fuel magnates, spend $1B/yr interfering with public understanding of what is happening to our world. Few investments rival the return they've gotten from evangelicals."

An oldie but goodie makes the link between fossil fuels, climate denial, and U.S. religion.

Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

So it turns out the 4 inch electrical box was a little bigger than 4 inches. There was some… manual adjustment, made to the hole I drilled with the hole saw. But it got in there, secured, and caulked. Next round I can hopefully finish getting the wires in and mounting the camera.

precisely my thought. the president and his dumbass republican allies put these men and women into harm’s way for a political stunt and look what has happened
Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

Opened up the ceiling in the garage, pulled back the wiring and put a cover on the old junction box. Next need to cut the hole for the new one. It’s going through stucco, so that’ll be fun. Looking at getting a carbide tipped hole saw to make it easy and not destroy everything.

From the days of chocolate horseradish brownies and chocolate chicken chicken cake to now, there has never been a good time to try an AI generated recipe.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

Looks like I get to start cutting holes in the house again. The old security camera was mounted in a very stupid way which only worked because it was super rotatable. The new one is more fixed and can’t see shit from that angle. So I’m going to move where it mounts

Seeing clips of Trump absolutely fawning over Mamdani is just bonkers. Like, I knew people talked about it happening, but this is way more than I thought would happen. I mean, I'm sure he'll forget about it all in the next 24 hours because he's senile, but dang.
November 21, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I mean, the difference is we know Mamdani didn’t give in on anything, whereas other democratic lawmakers most certainly have
a significant reason Mamdani can get away with this and other Dems can’t is less that he’s charmed Trump and more that he’s charmed you, dear reader, which is why you’re not yelling at him for being a collaborator or an appeaser right now
