I've seen a few posts that have in effect blamed the families for calling 911 and made categorical statements that 911 shouldn't be called ever for these crises.

Having been both a family member who has had to call 911 for a mental health crisis and an EMT, may I suggest not writing those posts?
Her family was aware of cops killing people in mental health crises and called 911 to get an ambulance to take her to a hospital. Cops came because it's "standard procedure"

Only the cops arrived at their front door. They kicked it, entered & immediately shot Victoria

This.

Kamala is the nominee right now because she and Biden made the announcement in a way that entirely neutralized the ability of idiot Democratic insiders to scream for an "open process."

Put differently: if Biden wasn't still a sharp, skilled, disciplined politician, we'd be fucked.
Hahahaha! So many people in other places have INSISTED that Nancy Pelosi would have never skipped over Kamala and was always in support of the VP taking over for Biden. They've also INSISTED that those of us who worried about an open process were just paranoid because it was always Harris. Nope!

I was away because I checked myself into the hospital. I was having a debilitating and very dangerously bad depression and anxiety cycle.

For me, like many who fight major depressive disorder and/or anxiety disorder, the disease is cyclical — there are good times and bad times.

This should be my last thread on Biden and the nomination.
I think that politically this is an idiotic move that was caused by fear, panic, media ratings, and people who wanted to punish Biden for not being able to magic in everything they wanted.

No, he wasn't. This was a manufactured controversy based on polling that actually moved in Biden's direction since the debate

No one follows me, so I doubt anyone will see this.

But the assholes won, looks like Biden is backing off the nomination.

If whoever runs doesn't win I will never forgive those who pushed him out. Not sure I will anyway.

And, for clarity:
"The benefits outweigh the risks because Biden will definitely lose" is not showing me that you've put serious thought into the risks. Serious thought means sober assessment of everything.

Let's start here:
Biden withdraws tomorrow. Who is the nominee? How do we know? Is there a path to just anointing Harris, or does this now have to be an open convention? If it's an open convention, what measures can be taken to restrict how delegates vote?

That's a month of campaign totally gone.

The entire "dump Biden" campaign right now is basically a dude running from scary noises in the woods that might be a bear but might be a loud racoon, who is convinced that the best survival strategy is to jump from a cliff and rig a chute from popsicle sticks and socks on the way down.

Sorry Tom, Biden is more than capable of leading us for 4 more years, and Kamala is ready when and if need be! It's only you pundits who can't see the truth! The only, very demented, old and failing candidate is Trump, who as a potential dictator must be stopped at all costs!

The idea that it could flip to Harris and the story be anything but "she knew and covered up or didn't and is incompetent " is nuts. The idea that flipping to someone else and the story be anything but "pushing Harris out" is nuts.

I’m sorry we have an imperfect candidate but maybe if the party nominally opposed to Trump actually opposed Trump instead of turning on itself like a pack of hyenas we could surmount a polling deficit of a couple of points
