None of this seems unusual?

Or, unless I'm mistaken, even novel news? We knew the moderates were negotiating.
I’m genuinely confused reading this article what is being alleged to have happened. I assumed backchannel talks were happening with leadership’s approval, but none of what’s in the screenshots seems like Schumer dictating something that got heroically rejected by the caucus?

I...don't understand how people who have lived through the same year I am are still enthusiastically yearning for more state power, actually.

I have news for these journalists about the social media presence of most men.
James Talarico, a Texas Democrat running for U.S. Senate who has put his faith at the forefront of his campaign, follows several adult film performers, escorts and OnlyFans models on Instagram, according to an Axios review.
Faith-forward Texas Senate candidate follows porn actors, escorts online
James Talarico has become a sensation in Texas politics by talking about how his Christianity is the basis for his progressive politics.

This. Raising politician salaries by several hundred percent would be so good for our democracy, but would be about the most toxically unpopular thing imaginable, which is a huge shame.
there is no political proposal that more divides the tiny percentage of us who live and breathe politics and literally *everyone else* than politician salaries
The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.

We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.
November 6, 2025 at 11:30 PM
When you see shit like this, its very hard not to conclude he ran for mayor explicitly for corrupt personal gain.

Gross. I hope the state prosecutes.

They've been sucker punching people under the assumption it was a fight.

If the opposition party actually turns around and squares up, for the first time since immediately post WW2, they'd going to go shocked Pikachu pretty quick.
Not to replace substance with message but I genuinely do not think that the GOP establishment is prepared, nor capable, of regulating itself in a world where all high profile democrats are directly staring into a camera and telling Trump to go fuck himself.
From the top rope

2024 was a bad year for incumbents and economic anxiety was through the roof.

Theyre the incumbents now and its worse.

The best case for them is that tonight is a reality check that far from a paradigm shift, 2024 might in fact leave them holding the bag.
November 5, 2025 at 5:59 AM
Southern Democrats get shit upon by the least worthy and useful of our coalition, and that sucks, so it's important to take a minute and say:

What an accomplishment. What a *feat*.
BREAKING: Democrats just broke the GOP supermajority in the Mississippi Senate!

In a stunning victory, Democrats gained seats in court-ordered special elections and will now head to Jackson to represent and fight on behalf of their constituents.
November 5, 2025 at 4:58 AM
He's right.

Redistricting can backfire, folks. The GOP is going to be much more hesitant to turn safe seats more competitive in this headwind. You might think you're setting your party up to add seats but if you misread the environment you can lose twice as much ground as you hoped to gain.
really important element of this basically total victory is that it puts the fear of god in republican incumbents and may bring the redistricting push to a total halt
November 5, 2025 at 4:20 AM
Now gerrymander the shit out of your states, victors.

Juat ruthlessly. Make some shapes that call the Great Pld Ones

The odds seem pretty good that this amounts to a surrender.

When the case is tossed they'll get to pound there chest and imply unwholesome things about the judge and pretend it wasn't on the merits.
JUST IN: Unusual filing in Tish James case. DOJ says it isn't complying with judge's order to turn over discovery on selective prosecution issue. Usual procedure would be move to reconsider the order but prosecutors file 'notice' telling judge no. Doc: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I've never seen a store like I just did, and I worked for one part time during the pandemic.

Nobody needs my expert analysis to draw a conclusion, but this isn't good.

This is a sign things aren't going well, to put it lightly.
Another top campaign person resigns from Platner campaign. This raises the question of who exactly IS running this multi million dollar campaign?

I agree, and would add that it was always more "somebody else punch the people I don't like, please, I'm not gonna do it"
this entire thing is making me realize how so many people never were any way remotely serious about "punch the nazis." It was more "punch people I don't like, except Nazis"
Yes, Tony Pizza. That is correct

If you're an early-career creator or are within a degree of me, I will go over an appearance contract gratis (not including substantial revisions or multiple passes).
There are plenty of lawyers who'd review agreements like these for just time spent, to. It's not going to be free, but a lawyer once over of a, say, 9 page appearance agreement may not break the bank, its worth doing.

A mistake I see continually made is find assuming that because one thinks a politician odious, that politician isnt formidable.

Nothing in politics evinces electability more than getting elected. An incumbent is not gonna be easy to beat, 9 times out of 10.

Hey, start a garden in November, on no notice with little spare resources! That'll feed your kids!

I swear people don't think before they speak or type.
On Threads, the usual suspects are telling ppl about to lose SNAP benefits to just start a garden. As a gardener, I had to laugh. You need at LEAST an acre of land to feed a family of 4. Start-up costs are enormous. But yes, subsistence farming on the balcony of your rental apartment is the answer

Some progressives (not all) getting mad at "the libs" for drawing the line at the willing use of Nazi iconography on your body is wild. Just hypocritical in a million ways.

As the attempted cover job pivots to "but how did they find this shit, HMMM?", I feel it's a good time to remind you that internet privacy is as thin as tissue paper, anonymity isn't much better, and a determined, skillful investigator with anything resembling resources can puncture both, easily.

It was never credible that he didnt know *something*, as Faine says.

Come on, people. You do not have to turn your credulity off.
At the risk of spiking the ball, maybe a second or two of reflection is warranted for the “Maybe Platner just didn’t KNOW it was a SS Totenkopf until now and it was an innocent mistake” crowd on here

So, uh, I grew up in Colorado. I know lots of military folks. Lots.

Platner looks more and more like a very, very particular cliche every time I see him speak and every time I see more oppo.
