I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

I’ve never understood the protests as a way to influence Trump. I believe they’re important because they’re a way to tell each other that we’re not okay with this. They’re a way to communicate with other Americans and hopefully suppress further normalization of Trumpism in everyday life.
Mass protests might serve as a national venting session for aggrieved Americans, but they don’t change Trump's behavior.

What might is American workers standing together and showing him the power they have.
Is America Pissed Off Enough at Trump and Musk for a General Strike?
The United States hasn’t seen such a massive labor action in 78 years. But the oligarchic wreckage of this administration is fueling multiple movements toward that goal.

My favorite aspect of the Columbus legend is him getting rejected by the Portuguese gets spun as them not recognizing the genius of his idea. No - he went into a roomful of expert navigators and made basic math mistakes, they thought he was a moron, and they wouldn't fund his idea on that basis.

if we are going to have a supreme court that is as powerful as it is, i basically think justices should be forbidden from public comment on their work as well as any supplemental source of income while they are on the bench. (they should also ride circuit again but that's a bit separate.)
The substance of what she's saying is bad and unconvincing, but more fundamentally, I really don't think Supreme Court justices should be going on book tours where they publicly comment on their work and respond to criticism of it. Either put it in a written opinion or hold your peace.

Really just giving the game away. There is no legal logic to what they are doing and they never want it to apply to any future Dem president but they need to give Trump whatever he wants.

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?
